Sheinbaum also agreed to create a plan for stopping the inflow of drugs into the U.S.

This is how you do it.

I'm flabbergasted that Trump is influencing significant issues before he even takes his oath of office. I realize Pres. Biden is taking credit for the cease-fire in Lebanon and he deserves recognition for sending the Secretary of State repeatedly to encourage both sides to come together, but Blinken or Biden didn't sway Iran, I think that is all TRUMP.

I'm flabbergasted you believe this. I assume Mexico is going to pay for it?

Sheinbaum also agreed to make the US federal debt disappear, to make the Gators 11-0, and to make every day Christmas and the 4th of July combined!

"Whatever you say, Don, I'll make any stupid ass announcement you want. Just quit blabbering about those ridiculous tariffs- people think you might be stupid enough to do it."

Well, what do you know...TRUMP LIED.

"But Sheinbaum responded quickly that she had reiterated Mexico's position was not to close borders, but to address migration while respecting human rights."

Your post brings to mind that old adage:

"Lie to me once...shame on you. Lie to me 30,573 times and I still believe your bullshit....

There's not a board acceptable way to finish that with the new, enhanced moderation.

A more balanced take… her actual statement was that she already stopped the caravans … UNDER BIDEN … "Caravans of migrants no longer reach the border," and that the tarrif threats Trump is making would be dealt with with their own tariffs on American exports… ensuring equal economic damage … nice spin, though … don’t worry Trump will get his chance to show he can stop all border crossings, we will see….

Migrant caravans not reaching border, Mexico president says

It's simply stunning anyone takes anything he says at face value. I'm reminded of people trapped in an abusive relationships that keep going back for more. The guy literally sharpied a new path for a hurricane on a poster board and presented it to the American public.....

Here's the actual translation of the Mexican presidents tweets. Unsurprisingly it's nothing like what Trump claims.

    >In our conversation with President Trump, I explained to him the comprehensive strategy that Mexico has followed to address the migration phenomenon, respecting human rights. Thanks to this, migrants and caravans are assisted before they reach the border. We reiterate that Mexico’s position is not to close borders but to build bridges between governments and between peoples.

    >I had an excellent conversation with President Donald Trump. We discussed Mexico’s strategy on the migration phenomenon and I shared that caravans are not arriving at the northern border because they are being assisted in Mexico.

It will be interesting to see what our economy is like when undocumented asylum seekers are kicked out of the country and not allowed in. They are legally allowed to work and do so in agriculture, construction, and hospitality and other industries in low end jobs nobody here wants to do. And with Biden unemployment levels low and a booming economy, the absence of these workers will lead to these jobs being unfulfilled. They shop, pay taxes etc. The economic benefits far outweigh the costs. This will hit rural communities dependent on agriculture particularly hard. Then again, this is what they voted for.

Exactly. And legal border crossings are way down. This is already happening. Soon, just like his last term, Trump will take credit for the low unemployment and reduced inflation that was the result of Biden’s economic plan. Post COVID, We had lower inflation than the rest of the world and a growth economy. Meanwhile, in other parts of the world they had and are still having recession.
