I had so many posts removed from FB for calling out far-right extremism while keeping up blatantly sexist and racist posts.

Example: calling out a man calling women “property” unironically “sexist.” Not only was my post removed, but I was barred from participating in grounds for 30 days for… harassment. One post. Calling a sexist a sexist. Hm.

I watched Zuckerberg’s statement on this and it seems like BOTH Biden and Trump are very concerned with Meta.

Both Biden and Trump’s attempts to get Meta to allow or disallow certain information should be criticized.

And there is absolutely no reason to speculate why this change was made. The FTC is reviewing Meta’s purchase of Instagram and could unwind it. Trump won the election. Trump is going to appoint the new FTC chairman soon. Meta wants to keep Instagram, so they completely changed their policy regarding information to what Trump wanted and reversed what Biden wanted. And appointed Dana White to the Board, haha.

That's nothing compared to the ban I received back in 2017 when a moderator went rogue and repeatedly issued warnings for posts I made he did not like. None of which violated board rules. Thing was this 'moderator' never reported or recorded a single 'warning' on the moderators forum as required by board rules and guidelines for moderators. Nor did this said rogue ever notify me when he plastered 'warnings' on to my account, violating an established GC protocol. It was all done underhandedly in secret.

The rogue did not know GC software had, and possibly still has, a feature that automatically issues a permanent ban to any GC poster who receives 12 warnings. I'm told it had never before happened, not until the the power mad mod went overboard in his devious scheme and got caught. Nor has it happened to any poster since, afaik. Surely there was some sort of punishment for such a blatant and dishonest disregard for board rules and decency...? Apparently not, or the rogue received a pardon to return again.

Private message board sites do, of course, have the right to decide what can or cannot be published on that site, but is it a fair practice to ignore blatant, intentional infractions of their stated rules, then pardon the offender, essentially saying "rules for thee, not for me"?

I can’t top that, but I did get banned on GC, years ago, for impishly cheering for Ohio State, my response to posters who were besmirching Urban Meyer and even making unkind remarks about his family.

Even that last part was sort of a "for now. . . " thing. They knew and fully expected it to change with the times, hence the amendment process.

Exactly. Zucc is just a giant gash who only cares about his money. That's why he took a great idea and ruined it. . . simply so he could shove more money in his pocket. That he would bend the KneeS to both Biden and Trump (and Obama before that) is hardly surprising. The guy is a human jellyfish.

    This.

The American voters can always discern fact from mistruth. For just one example, they knew that it was totally true that immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, were eating dogs and cats.

So? The US Constitution is not a dictionary, but Merriam-Webster is and here's what Merriam-Webster has to say:

democracy: a form of government in which the people elect representatives to make decisions, policies, laws, etc. according to law

    Definition of DEMOCRACY

Liberal thinking: the above figure is never to be referred to as a square unless someone dumber than me (i.e., anyone else except Noam Chomsky) incorrectly denies that it is a rectangle.

Huh? How does factchecking make you lose your job? And lack of factchecking allow you to keep it?
And this is just Facebook. It doesn't mean that all factchecking is now stopped everywhere.

I'm pretty sure if you post any number of things on facebook you can still lose your job. Your employer isnt going to be 'factchecking' anything you put out for public consumption, never has, never will. If anything, whatever facebook censored in the past was probably saving many people from getting fired, in that it deleted/hid your stupidest and meanest posts lol. Is your argument really now that people can write gays are mentally ill or post Nazi stuff, your job is safer? I'm sure that wont attract any controversy!

Why is this now a talking point? It just started popping up over the past few months. On TikTok it all started at once, like everyone is programed and they uploaded the thought. Creepy

To be fair, this has been a talking point among the most right-wing / conservative posters on this board as long as I've been on it. They are opposed to democracy on principle, that's not a new thing. You should have seen some of the various schemes some of them devised on how voting should work! My favorite was only people who paid property tax should vote, because that's the only way you can have "skin in the game" apparently. Not simply living in this place.

I had never heard that before. It was really really weird the way it started popping up in a chat on TikTok one day. Repeating it over and over again. It started back in August or September.

Most likely the Russian paid podcaster probably said it and they all ran with it.

It's been going on here for years. I'm not sure why right-wingers like to insist we are not a democracy. My guess they think it makes them sound 'smart' to correct people that we are a constitutional republic and not a democracy, like the 2 things are mutually exclusive.
But a darker motivation might be that right-wingers want to deemphasize 'democracy' as they seek to turn us into a right-wing autocracy. It's clear that that's what many of them want.
