I actually think it tells the story of how men and American culture have changed. Most men used to be more handy and rugged. It was necessary and men were more useful. Nowadays men have increasingly become less capable, less self-sufficient and more metro/gay.
Nearly everywhere except large gathering events, airports, etc. where I know there's security. Have had to give up a few.
We should go back (a common theme) to a happier time when we toiled with hard labor to eek out an existance. Things were less gay back then.
Bingo, almost I was a sheriff in Hillsborough county back in the day. Walter Heinrich was my boss. I’m retired now but still have that itch to abuse a regular citizen. I’ve been going to counseling and it’s helped a lot. Haven’t kicked a puppy or kitten in over 2 years.
Always have a pocket knife on me. It may be a dressier knife or it may be a small multi tool. Usually just a cheaper lock back blade. It (they) get used almost everyday.
My grandfather carried a knife because he lived on a farm, I had to help him turn on his computer though. Really depends on what you are talking about. Anyone over 60 I always have to help with computers or phones. I never lived on a farm, some people cant hack it in a city. Doesnt mean anything about ruggedness lol.
I just connected the dots you had clearly laid out there. And things weren't actually less gay. People just talked about gay less
What's actually conservative about any of this? You are just romanticizing some stuff, tripping on nostalgia. No different from a hipster talking about how music doesnt sound the same anymore on digital. Or someone saying they dont make cars like they used to. Also, you better get your kid a knife before he becomes a commie
You can’t relate to people like the OP. So you choose to trash his thread as well as any others who can relate. FTR I don’t carry a knife, but most of my close friends do. I carry a fishing pole…in my truck. And the posters who carry knives on this board are likely people I respect and would easily get along with.
Because of this thread, I now believe your friends make fun of you behind your back for not carrying a knife. I have to say, I've lost some respect too, a fishing pole? What can you even do with that? Certainly not knife stuff.
