So, after the last cultural thread, let's see where this one gets us.
I have carried a pocketknife since I was about 15 years old. I always carried one to HS and have caried one ever since. My asks me if I have it, and the same answer every time. If I'm dressed I have it in my pocket. Never once have I thought of pulling it for self-defense but have used it for any number of things nearly daily my whole life. I assume very few of the regulars on here have ever owned one let alone carry one. Where do you fall on this?

My dad always carried a pocket knife but he was a citrus man. He used a pocket knife to cut into oranges to check them out. They were of the long thin blade variety.

Why on Earth would you assume "very few of the regulars on here have ever owned one, let alone carry one."

Well I was in boy scouts so false, but now I tend to carry around things that are more useful, like a smart phone. Just use a knife delivery app if I need one.

They have been replaced by dudes carrying multiple types of USB chargers. That way you can text someone else who has a pocket knife.

I'm admittedly not a handy guy but not sure how many things one can actually fix with a pocket knife. I just wear a belt around with duct tape and W-9 because they can fix like 80% of problems.

When the shit hits the fan, and it will, I know the first thing I will do is pull out my pocket knife… which is somewhere in some box somewhere next to my dad’s coin and stamp collection.

I have a bike tool that looks like a pocket knife, that is way more useful for random stuff, but mostly bike stuff. :)

I know you are not new here!! Just from the responses of so many here I made that assumption. I know it is not the culturally correct thing to do is make an assumption about someone, but I bet I'm right!!

I "carry" a pocket knife in the "ash tray" of my truck. What does that make me? I'm very interested in being categorized. I need to belong!

also, this thread belongs on r/terriblefacebookmemes

ditto. Mine stays in the truck unless I'm fishing or hunting or hiking. Maybe we need to form our own tribe.

If I lived on a farm or a ranch, or property with more than 100 acres. But... not near the city.
