Tucker has filed suit, so it's game on. Michigan State will write him a big check-confidentially of course-and this will be over. Maybe some of these schools should force the scammer to go to court to prove their allegations, rather than immediately adjudicating guilt and firing people on solely the scammer's word. It would have been a hell of a lot cheaper to pay her to go away than it is to buyout Tucker.
Agree completely Clay - unfortunately there was enough embarrassing detail that he confessed to, that almost mandated the need for another face to their program. It would be a very long time before the image of the MSU head coach with his pud in his hand faded from view. They pretty much had to turn the page, but I wish this woman had been held accountable for her role in this mess.
Take this rumor only for what it's worth, but it comes directly from a Michigan State alum friend of mine. There are apparently a lot of MSU alums who believe this whole thing was set-up by the school to get out of Tucker's contract or presumedly any buyout if they were to fire him. That would be pretty damn sleazy of the school to do that, but I could see it.
Had his performance been that different from before they gave him the contract? Seems like he’s doing about what he was doing before. Why give him the contract in the first place if you’re going to immediately turn around and set him up to get out of it?
Dunno. He was given the big 10 year $95M contract at the end of 2021 after an 11-2 season and finished top 10. In 2022, he went 5-7 and 3-6 in Big-10. I can see there being reason for buyers remorse.
Just a guess but probably because he did it. He admits it happened but claims it was consensual. If there's evidence the call took place, which there probably is, it's probably in his best interest to not lie. Regardless, he f&$%#d up. He shouldn't have put himself in that situation whether it was consensual or not. But it would be pretty crappy if the school set him up.
Yeah he really effed up. Just hate that the other party gets to skate simply out of political correctness
Tucker has one big problem with his case, his contract. The ‘moral turpitude’ clause gives the university full and complete control to interpret that as they see fit. This is not a go away with a big check situation, imho, it’s simply go away. This will be the most expensive Toobin Zoom spank session in history, $79mil to be exact. In November, Michigan State signed him to an unprecedented 10yr $95mil deal that came fully guaranteed, even if it fired him for poor performance. The only way he could lose out on the money, the contract said, was if he materially breached it, was convicted of a crime or engaged in “conduct which, in the University’s reasonable judgment, would tend to bring public disrespect, contempt or ridicule on the University.”
Correct, but it wasn't reported until December 2022, after the 5-7 season, which also seems a bit convenient to me. MSU may not have set the incident up, but it very plausible that if a school official found out there was some sort of incident, that maybe they got her to report it and embellish the story where they could use it to fire him. I have no idea. I was just stating what an MSU alum told me was the rumor going around there.
If she did, this confirms the setup. Look, I don't give a crap about Tucker or Michigan State. But.. if she was so upset, all she had to do was hang up. It's very simple.
