They have won 8 in a row, 4-0 in the ACC. Tonight they were down 18 at home to Syracuse, and scored 58 in the second half to win by 1.
that was the point, they’ve completely turned it around, and are playing really well now. Their next game is Duke, that will be a good measuring stick.
Seems like a quite optimistic take to say "they've completely turned it around". They beat a .500 team at home by 1. As always time will tell.
8 wins in a row after the ugly first few. I’m not saying a Syracuse win is some massive feat, I’m saying when you’re down 18 and find a way back while on a seven game win streak you have something going. And no, doesn’t mean they’ll end up that way, maybe they fall of the wagon again. But right now they have a belief that they will win.
Bravo for the anticipation post. You call out a team achieving and then they just happen to knock off Duke. Good call.
Canes beat UNC by 28 tonight and are 6-1 in league. Meanwhile, the Noles had a 6 point lead inside of three minutes tonight at home, gave up an 8-0 run to Duke and are now in OT, scored a tying bucket with just over a second left and are now in OT.
Noles won in OT on 2 late FTs and stormed the court. Even they know they aren’t anything in basketball no matter how much they posture. Meantime, the Noles have won their last 13 OT games, which is an all time D1 record. For you statisticians out here, the odds against that happening randomly are 1 in 8,192 I think.
Surprised that after three consecutive losing seasons, Larranaga is even still the head coach at UM. And after only four NCAA Tournament appearances in his 10 seasons, the Miami administration has been more than patient. I assume if the Canes continue to play well and make this year’s Tournament, Larranaga will be off the hot seat at least for another season.
FSU's win last night vs Duke raised their Net Ranking from 70 to 58 so that helped the win vs FSU look a little better. They should now remain a Quad 2 victory. Florida has a Net Ranking of 44 and since MSU has a Net Ranking of 47, the Gators have a chance of another Quad 2 victory and only the 2nd win vs a team in the top 50 Net. Gators are currently 1-4 vs Quad 1, 2-0 vs Quad 2, 1-1 vs Quad 3 and 6-1 vs Quad 4. A lot has been talked about the Tx. So loss, but the Maryland loss is looking worse by the day. Maryland is now 1-6 in the Big Ten. Maryland would need to move up 14 spots for the loss to be considered Quad 2 instead of Quad 3, which is looking less and less likely. Imo, the Gators need to go 500 in SEC play to have a realistic shot of the tournament, making tonight's game a huge one. Tough to seeing them going 500 in the SEC if they lose tonight.
