Just blew a nice lead at aTm by having his team make 4 fgs in the entire 2nd half.

..and I was the dork that kept supporting him.

3 things Milquetoast Mike is known for:
    • Taking the air out of the ball
    • Blowing a lead
    • Not making eye contact with the refs

You mean Xanax Mike? We all have inexplicable crushes at some point. You must forgive yourself in order to heal and move on.

I posted this in another thread, and I’ll put it here too. Their offense that 2nd half was brutal. They didn’t make a shot from the field through the first 12 minutes of the second half. 12 minutes!!! They also only made 4 field goals, the entire 2nd half and scored only 21 points. The rest of their points, which weren’t many, came off of free throws. 4 made fg’s in 20 minutes is pretty terrible.

We are constantly putting down Mike White, and I am at the forefront in doing so, but let's give credit where credit is do; I can't think of another coach who would have been able to wring a triple double out of Chris Chiozza coming off of the bench. Would anyone care to explain why? If not, I will do it myself.

In fairness, I don't think anybody is putting him down as much as just pointing out what happened. I supported him while he was here and would do so again; he may become great from this point forward...who knows? But to date, he has not won very many games at Georgia. He has been a blisteringly consistent .333 in SEC play with 6-12 his first year, 6-12 his second year, and now 4-8. Under Mike White, Georgia is a combined 2-22 in SEC road games. As of today, I am very happy that he is at Georgia and Todd Golden is at FLORIDA.

    Go GATORS!

By being fortunate enough that a Mizzou team with a 0-9 SEC record was on the schedule that night? ;)

No. The correct answer is that every other coach would have started Cheese instead of bringing him off of the bench.

    His offense was excruciating.

Yet, he had that streak of making the tourney AND winning a game. The last 3 or 4 years it always felt like the bottom was about to fall out, but it never quite did.

I think what damned him most was his success came early with the players he inherited (and Leon was the one big difference maker he brought right away and fit perfectly). After that, as his own players cycled and the roster became 100% his it seemed we were just slowly sliding down each year. Too many recruits not working out. Still crazy how good we were feeling early in his 3rd season coming off the elite 8. Several 100 point games to start the season seemed like he was about to get it rolling. Classic game against Gonzaga, and everyone was like “see you in the final 4” even after losing another classic battle to Duke. After that game it was like the lights went out on offense.

Do a quick search on twitter. He was trending earlier today and not in a good way. A good portion of the uga fan base is already over him

I still say he has the ability to be a good coach. (The knowledge about the game and how to coach it.)

BUT- the guy was so scared of being successful. He was wound so tight and any sign of success made him tighter.
I'll never forget our game vs oral Roberts. We got lucky and had a wide easy road to the Sweet 16 as we played the #15 seed I think.
We had a nice lead and White went into shutdown- like a 4 corners. But you can't do the 4 corners w/ a 30 second shot clock!
    And of course we lost...

I'm the last guy on the "fire the coach train" but that was it for me.
He just doesn't have the backbone to be successful, IMO.

Spurrier is the complete opposite. He knew the game of course but his intangibles were what set him apart.
And while it's early- I get the same vibe from Golden.
We have this fight and a belief in ourselves that comes from the top and filters into each guy on the team.
It's so beautiful. I love how we are playing!!
