Braun- All SEC 2nd year in a row McMillon 105 tackles Ryland Powell 9.5 sacks Evaluations from our coaching staff, specifically with the 3 we lost last year, concerning. Maybe these guys guys weren’t pushed out but they sure weren’t encouraged to stay. We keep our own guys we’d be fine. People weren’t kind to these guys when they transferred but Braun, McMillon, and Rylan Powell all performed at extremely high levels this year. We can be ok losing Etienne but guys like these guys above and McClellan are huge losses. We could have used the three above this year. In fact we are a different team with them.
If you weren't just trying to paint us in the worst possible light you would acknowledge that everyone has lost productive players to the portal and we have added some via the portal as well. But who needs reality when you can push a narrative?
And even tho he’s on offense and was a commit that Napier wanted em to send in a workout video and he didn’t, Jayden Gibson coming on at WR for OU and would be WR1 next year if he was still at UF.
i’m just guessing, but i think he used those 3 as examples as guys who in 2022 were underutilized and found success elsewhere.
He would also acknowledge the dudes who transferred and haven't done crap. Like Whittemore, who he was d-riding extremely hard all last season and off-season
ARP and Braun I'm with you on. McMillon may have been making tackles but if you watch the film he was getting owned out there. Not a loss imo.
I'm sure being a year older and having that much more time developing physically helped those 3 kids. Especially at the positions they play. The most ironic part about it is Powell probably stays if Princely never switches positions becoming our Edge/Rush/OLB which was the position Powell was presumed would take the roll after spring but then The switch and Powell up and transfers with out a reason. "Florida edge rusher Antwaun Powell-Ryland Jr. is entering the transfer portal, according to a social media post he sent out Friday afternoon.Powell is the second Gator to leave the team following the Orange and Blue Game. Offensive lineman David Conner officially entered the portal on Thursday after leaving the team during spring practices. He didn’t give a reason for his decision, but playing time was likely a factor for the rising fourth-year junior. Princely Umanmielen switched to the edge after Brenton Cox Jr. was dismissed from the team last season, and he’s the expected starter heading into the summer." Situations like this , and the one with ETN and Trell just tells me that most of the time competition with teammates are what runs these kids off, and by that I don't mean they are scared, but their skills are so close that they don't want to share the lionshare of playing time.
100% true. All about evals. Hoping we hear later today of 2 Portal guys committing and a couple of high school players as well.
