Don’t know that it really matters as there’s a very good chance he’ll be on scholly by the first game anyway. For some reason, I would still feel better if he did decided to come here as a walkon, without the scholarship being a certainty. Not that my opinion matters either. Lol
Per the article on FB, Gator Country, few "talking head" Gator shows. I don't see him being a walk on long... but if true, nice sign of Good Faith.
I think he got caught up in the "Coach Prime"... if I'm a CB, I'd he enamored by him. Culturally, Colorado isn't a good fit for most Florida kids. Get him back home around a good support system
Great size for a CB Great speed Great vision....seems to have his eyes in the backfield coming off his man and going to where the ball is. Great hands
Being a walk-on doesn't hurt him, since he gets NIL. From the perspective of a hit to his ego, plus a good dose of humility, he benefits again. For the coaches the PWO should offer incentive for Cormani to progress to a scholarship! Who doesn't want to move up? The real kicker, though--he has tremendous peer pressure to grow up, comply, and do the work. I am not the least bit concerned about him affecting the culture, because the culture will make him accountable. If he doesn't comply, there's hell to pay! Where does he go from here? Here's a hint: 0. In this way, he doesn't take a scholarship from anyone, and he has motivation to prove himself. This is ALL up to McClain! And, this is GENIUS by Billy Napier!!!
He's not the only one either. I fully expect Jordan Seaton to end up back at a Florida school once he realizes its all smoke and mirrors up there. Maybe even end up in the O&B.
He's a Gator now so all that matters is our coaching staff wanted him and got him. Time to move into his developmental stage... which I hope is a proper rapid advancement of his skills.
I think he earns the scholarship..... I don't know what options he had available to him, but coming here without scholarship says a lot to me
He has the height but if he is still 165 pounds he will not see the field. He isn't tackling anyone at that weight. Ethan Pouncy was 169 pounds and barely saw any playing time. Look at the roster for DB's the 2 deep is 195+ plus we have talent already to go at the position. I hope he is willing to sit on the bench for the season and put on weight or he will be back in the portal by the end of the year.
Guys, it’s not like he got a DUI or did half the stuff they get away with up at UGA. He’s a 17 year old who let logic take a back seat to a ton of money being thrown at him. I won’t blame a DB for wanting to play for Deion over the last couple years. It’s working out great for Travis Hunter. if he’s willing to come back as a PWO, that should mean he has been humbled a little bit. Hope he has a chip on his shoulder and Harris is able to use it. talent wise - I believe his only weakness was tackling and Harris obviously wants to get our DBs tackling again. it’s such a low risk move that I think it’s a no brainer. If he doesn’t show up for the team - he’s gone.
Agreed. Back on topic, I hope Billy Napier and McClain celebrated the enrollment with a nice steak dinner in the student athlete dining hall. With lots of pounds of steak. And hopefully buckets full of mashed potatoes. Never too early to start bulking.
