Right after the game they spoke with Walter Clayton, Jr on the radio. Here's what he said (mostly exact but technically paraphrasing) . . . Walter, what a night for you and your team. 19 points, a Gator high for you, what felt good for the offense here tonight? I feel like we did a much better job of moving the ball from side to side. Obviously ZP coming back was a big help, another ball handler, somebody who can make great passes. I didn't have to be on ball as mcuh tonight. We did a good job moving the ball. [Lee] Walter, you guys played with great pace tonight, really got out in transition. What was the game plan, offensively, coming in? Our game plan every game is to just push the ball in transition. Those are the easy buckets but if we got to, we'll slow it down. I felt like out bigs did a really good job getting the ball outleted and us just getting up the floor. * * * You mentioned Zyon, his Gator debut, he's in double figures as well but the dynamic of him coming back and how deep you guys are in the back-court, just, what does that mean to have a 5th year guy like him by your side? It means a lot. Obviously, like you said, 5th year. That's a lot of experience. Experience alone plays a big part. He's just a great player, a great person, and we just continue to grow as a team. It's great having him back. * * * [Lee] Defensively, you held Florida State to just 36% on the night. Talk about the defensive execution. Uh, we could have done actually a lot better job with the defensive execution. We had some simple mistakes we have to go back to practice and fix but overall it was a good performance. * * * Walter, your first taste of this rivalry . . . Florida and Florida State . . . the home fans packed ExactTech Arena . . . what was it like for you? It was great! I enjoyed the energy. I appreciate everybody coming out tonight. Just, obviously, like you said, the rivalry, it's good to win and especially winning by this much! How about 52 points in the first half? You guys never looked back . . . that offensive start, that was unique wasn't it? Yeah, it was very unique. We, obviously, came out with a chip on our shoulder. This was a statement game. They're coming into our house and you just have to protect home court. Final one Walter, but how do you build off of this? You go to Brooklyn, couple of games there, couple of tough matchups. How do you build on a win like you had tonight? Just get back to the film room. Look at the good things we did and also look at the bad things we did. Clean up the bad things and just continue to get better at the good thigs.
