Kentucky still obviously pulls much bigger crowds than us, but even their crowds for real exhibition games have dwindled tremendously.

Daytona.. yeah 2 hours away. I’m just saying that UK is an incredible fan base with exceptional support. Not saying anything new here . They have always been .
My problem : Gainesville doesn’t support basketball as it should . Not a great sports town actually. Where are the quality golf courses! ???

I haven't played it in MANY years but the University course wasn't bad.

Better than the two golf courses at Illinois but not as good as Cog Hill #4 aka Dubsdread outside Chicago. Many PGA events played there and they didn't always use the back tees.

Added in edit: They played the Western Open there for a number of years. I will show my age by saying that the Western Open was not a PGA event for a long time. It was run by the Western Golf Association. I am not sure when it became a PGA event.

Added in edit: In its later days it became some sort of BWM PGA event and now I think it is long gone.

One cool thing about the old days with the Western Open was that the pro players didn't get to use their pro caddies but had to use the best country club caddies from the Chicago area. IIRC Chick Evans was involved with that. There was a scholarship involved eventually named after him. Probably what the scholarship in Caddy Shack was inspired by.
