If Tennessee wins, we will need to win to keep a number one seed.

Tennessee had 6 losses in conference. Their number 1 seed ship should have sailed long ago.

If we miss out on #1 seed, I’d take 2 seed in Duke’s region.

It’s not overrating—it’s what the committee weighs. Bama may have played the toughest schedule in the NET era, and won a ton of them. The committee typically gives a lot of weight to that. And their metrics are nearly identical with us across the board. It’s also worth saying that this is a strange year simply because of the quality of our conference.

    Win, and it’s all irrelevant.

Tennessee isn’t jumping us. Metrics and resume are both in our favor.

Depends on performance today. I never count out how the Gators are treated.

I read your post, and my mind thought, oh good Tennessee lost. Then checking ESPN reminded me that this isn’t 2005. lol.

If we won by 40, we couldn’t catch up to them. We may pass them in KenPom, but they are ahead in all the other relevant metrics (SOR, WAB, KPI, BPI, Torvik), and their resume is still the best (9-5 Q1A, 16-5 Q1, 22-5 Q1-2).

Auburn has really fallen apart since we beat them. They have kept alive all our competition for the final one seed too. Not doing us any favors lately.

Tennessee played them really tight in Auburn (like 53-51). But losing to Bama at home has made this more of a contest.
