This is exactly right. It's always been that way for a long time, and the committee has repeatedly said that. It's also why we got a 2-seed in 2002 and in 2011 (despite getting blown out by Kentucky twice in two weeks).

I get that an announcer is going to publicize his game, and Houston has been ahead of us in a lot of metrics, but it's pretty close across the board. Would be hard for me to categorically say that, even if I believed it.

I do worry that it kind of wears you out eventually. Then again, that was exactly how the 2006-07 team felt, but still held off everyone in the tournament.

I think there's just enough doubters to keep a chip on our shoulders PLUS we're a team of underdogs - not a player on this team that didn't earn his way to this point with some seriously hard work and improvement on his game. EVERY team in the SEC seems like they have a lottery pick or future lottery pick and we've beat them all. Duke has Flagg. Show me a team in America that has done more with 3-star players - heck, in the last 10 years

    Some fascinating things today:

Chinyelu got a double-double in only 16 minutes and Handlogten got 10 boards in 14 minutes. Those are some insane rates. I don't have the time to run the numbers, but that just shows how much we bullied them in the paint.

Also loved the fact that Clayton had 6 assists against 0 turnovers. Flawless floor game. Not a bad defensive game, either. Kid somehow puts up 22 points and it feels like he hasn't broken a sweat. His effective fg% was 60+ on a high volume of shots (16).

Richard and Martin combined for 32 points on 15 shots. Also insanely efficient. That's like a combined 70% effective field goal clip.

After 6 turnovers in the first half and a 12-2 deficit in fast break points, we only had one turnover in the second half and had a 13-2 advantage in fast break points.

I’ll never get that moving steal by Clayton who somehow got all ball while ball in hands while moving forward and just snatched it away and took himself to the rim. That was pure finesse in 3 seconds on both sides. Yum.

I'm starting to think this team is really good at basketball. I just saw that they're the tenth best team statistically in the KenPom era! How many top 1,5 10, 15 wins this year? It's been a fun season and I can't wait to see what happens the rest of the way.

Yes you are, but that's not why, haha.

Seriously, they played on fresh legs against UK team that had just won a buzzer beater at basically 12:30 AM. I was not surprised UK wilted. Without Robinson, their depth is not good at all. Major drop off from player five to player six, then again from seven to eight.

I kept saying the whole first half that we were going to lose if we couldn't stop them. Their drags we're killing us.

    Felt like the UK game.

But then halftime happened and Bama was completely neutered for 20 minutes. The only thing that kept it from being a 30+ point single half blowout was the ability to keep getting some deep balls.

8 mins into the half and they were beat. Mentally. It was over.

Exactly what I said earlier in the thread in response to his comment. An injury depleted and tired UK team is nowhere close to this UF team.
