The huge job for Coach Golden is replacing Clayton, Martin & Richard. Aberdeen and Klavzar will be given a chance to start, we've got 3-4 other guards on the roster, plus two 4 star shooting guards who signed out of high school. But getting anywhere near equivalent replacements for those 3 is going to be major task.

You do you...we need all the mojo. In lieu of my failed contact into the recliner I'm taking no chances. This is important stuff and since maximum contact produces maximum results and its time for the final 4 au naturel. So much for us hosting a final 4 party...no invites to anyone here either no matter how much you beg. Someone tell Golden dont worry this one is in the bag now.

Sounded like a very vocal Gator base there.

Would not expect Alexis to be back if Condon, Chin, Handy, Haugh return. He’s going to want to play more.

Agree. And reminds me of a play fairly late in the game in which Handlogten appeared to get walloped out of bounds on our end going for a rebound where the ball also went out of bounds. The telecast went to commercial and I wasn't sure if a foul had been called or whose ball it was. When they came back from commercial, TT was inbounding the ball.

That 30-year old son of mine brought his wife and kids over last night to celebrate a couple of birthdays. He strolls up and takes off his cap and hands it to me; a grey 2025 Final Four ballcap! I said "How the heck did you get THAT already?" His wife works for Discovery and they had them at a conference she attended last week. I handed it back and he says' "I have one at home. She brought one for you too."

I cannot WAIT to wear that to work today...here in Knoxville...Tennessee...

I think for the first 15 minutes or so of the second half, the only shots we made were dunks, layups, and free throws. I don't think we made a shot that was released more than 2 feet from the basket. Hopefully, we won't have another shooting run like that.

I think I recall Clayton finally making a 3-pointer that bounced a couple of times and went in at about the 5 minute mark.

Agree, this was a glaring no call as the refs let another, let me play call go. This kind of reffing causes more injuries and escalating amonosity amongst opposing teams.

Irrespective of NIL, Clayton's return was after Golden gave him first shot at being a point guard, which worked out just great, moving him into the NBA first round. I suspect Haugh's pro future is at the "3" and Golden will give him first shot at Richard's role. If that occurs, I can easily Alexis returning.

So I watched the game at like 1am on Saturday night because it was my little girls 13 year old birthday and was recording the game.

One of my friends text me at the end of the game “Chomp!” (one I haven’t talked to in a while as all my Gator friends had the word).

Meanwhile, I watched the game thinking we were gonna lose because my beautiful and smart girlfriend who watched it without me said “if you think you’re gonna win and you’re just gonna check, I would watch it because with a couple mins left you definitely didn’t look like you were gonna win”.

Turns out after all she did know the outcome but also watched it and was smart enough to leave me scared throughout the game. So I watched the game, thanks to her with a legitimate concern we would lose and thought to myself maybe he meant we were Chomped? Was good enough for me as I needed something to believe. lol. I was so pissed that I let my friend really hear for cold texting at the end of the game in the DVR era. It was behavior unbecoming of a true gator I told him.

Literally because of my beautiful sweet intelligent gf, I was able to enjoy the game on its merits.

I can’t tell you at 1-2:30am how many times out of habit, especially watching alone I wanted to and grabbed my phone several times to post in the game thread out of habit.

Great and weird game. Gonna scan the thread.

What a game for Haugh and I still feel like something is in Clayton’s head. Last game it was less of his play but seemingly in the after game interview he just seemed down. He played that way Saturday and yes he saved us with those two amazing 3s and over a dozen foul shots and some really good layups.

But he seems just like he hasn’t seemed all year with his pep. This time post game he looked happy. Hes great no matter but doesn’t anyone else, or am I crazy, like maybe something personal happened in his family maybe? I hate speculating on stuff like that but it seems so.

I don’t know. Without him we would have lost those 2 3’s at the end won the game and I loved when he dribbled from the paint out to the perimeter spun and barely had a nano second to set and dropped that second one.

We need to stop missing those tips or even any shot where we have control and miss the shot from 3 feet. I get that there is a lot of action but we miss so many of those that going forward we’ll need to make those.

If we make half the ones we missed from 3 feet or less we would have BLOWN out UConn and especially TT.

Just my thoughts, TT played their hearts out but we are better and was a great game to watch. GO GATORS!!!!

    FF!!! Woo hoo!! :alligator:

I have noted elsewhere, I think the pressure of being a 1 Seed made us the 'hunted' versus the 'hunter' we were in our biggest wins this year. Made the F4 - pressure is off...I look for a different team this Saturday,

BTW - someone pointed out Alijah Martin at the stripe for the 2-shots when TT fouled him prior to the 10-second violation: Just before he shoots the second, he looks at the Red Raider to his left and says "Ball game." Cold as ice.

It was said with such confidence too, bordered on arrogance lol. 22 second mark roughly. It was like if he was playing some scrubs in a pickup game lol
