Maybe you missed the previous link about the number of breaches in the 430 mile wall in the West Bank. Here's another one.

Okay, if we need to keep out Saracens on horseback, we know the way to do it. It is less successful against Mongols, but that is a different problem.

Anyone care to guess where this photo was taken? Hint, it's not in Mexico. But rather it's a portion of the West Bank Wall. So tell me again, @gator95, just how effective walls are at stopping people?

Did you know that the majority of illegals cross the border legally and then overstay their visas?

I must’ve missed the part where I said the wall would be 100% effective.

Although it obviously works both ways the primary purpose of the sec
Not unlike the Great Wall of China it was built centuries ago to protect the Vatican from invaders. Are you suggesting a similar fortification along the 2,000 mile Southern border? As I suggested, not seriously by the way in post #28, why not go all the way with a Berlin style wall with multiple layered barriers, electrification, guard dogs and guard towers manned with armed border guards. And for extra measure maybe add hundreds of thousands of landmines like Korean DMZ.

Noticed that the Israeli wall in the West Bank was mentioned. Here's a photo illustrating the effectiveness of the wall, not quite the same as the photo in the article.

Okay, so your plan is to get an intermittent wall and fencing that is often breached for economic reasons? Well, I have good news for you...that's what we have!

Ergo, the border is secure. Problem solved. This was a productive thread, and I expect to hear no more about it.

Dont worry about the hundreds of thousands that came thru illegally. I get it. You don't care. Most do.

Much harder than just walking. Is it really that hard to understand? Man, some people don't use their brain.

So your plan is to spend billions on more wall which we've shown doesn't work. Brilliant. Why not actually address the actual issues? Why are they coming here? Because conditions at home are horrid, and we have have a demand for their labor. So unless we can fix things in C. America, why not at least allow the supply of labor to meet demand legally? Know who proposed exactly this? Two, bipartisan groups. One in 2007 and the Group of 8 in 2013.
