I am not upset. You claimed that people were upset and that you took it as a compliment. I get upset at the overall situation the country is in, but as far as individuals... the most I get is disappointed. Maybe, I also feel a bit of despair at the lack of a solution on the horizon. I don't think you should take a victory lap just yet on destroying other posters. You may find that the majority think that you bodied yourself.
I just read your posts for the out loud laughs. It’s like watching The Jerk or Dumb and Dumber. It will only last so long though.
Nah. I've posted plenty of substance that members I disagree with have responded at least rationally in kind even if we still disagreed. You admitted you're not interested in genuine discourse.
That’s the thing that shines through in his posts (apart from the dumbness) immaturity. I bet he’s 22-23 plays a lot of video games and talks smack on message boards for a living. Reminds me a lot of Orlando Gator.
Why is that all the better? You are saying others should grow up, but is taking pleasure in triggering people during a discussion on a deadly situation showing maturity? Rightly so, people are emotional about the deadly shooting, so freshly after it happened. I don't see the maturity in saying things to pull at the strings of a populace that is genuinely fearful that their child's school, or their favorite shopping location, might be next up on the list. Remember when I said that I get disappointed in people? This is why. It's disappointing that anyone finds any pleasure in triggering emotions derived from a terrible tragedy. Just my opinion. Feel free to take pleasure in my frustration of the entire situation.
Lowkey that’s the main reason why they’re so adamant about their resistance to gun reform. For many of them, seeing republicans sit down and meet with democrats would be capitulating and a loss for their side, so they’d rather cover their ears, stick their tongues out and remain stubborn in their “Nope, we’re not gonna budge” stance on guns and watch more people die. “Owning the libs” brings them much more satisfaction than potentially saving lives to gun violence.
The thing that triggers me is that these folks are the ones standing in the way of my children's safety at school and they don't even take the issue seriously. The majority is being held hostage by a vocal minority, largely empowered by gerrymandered districts, overrepresentation in the Senate based off population, and a stacked Supreme Court. The voice of the majority is being drowned out by inequality in the system.
Maga leaders can’t be viewed as working with any dem/indie/rino to even brainstorm ideas on addressing mass shootings. And maga followers fall in line.
You know how it goes when there’s a mass shooting that takes place in red state. The MAGA response is: “You know what the real problem is? Liberals.”
It's that people get so fired up over a media narrative when fact and reality are introduced. When you're reduced to nothing but epithets and insults. Of course, I have to take some pleasure in that. In the last shooting thread we had, I asked about Joe Biden's "largest gun bill in 30 years" legislation that was passed a year ago. None of you would touch it. You're working so hard to avoid reality, yes, it's amusing to me. To act like you're the only one who "cares" about the lives is an epithet and you should be mocked for it. Just because certain people have a different solution to the same problem doesn't mean they care any less. So yes, I do enjoy watching some of you unravel and devolve into petty insults. You're so uniquely arrogant in your position, yes, it's fun to watch you come unglued so quickly.
I know how you feel. On issues like this, and abortion, I feel like these people are playing some sort of game, where they have to be right and have to win, and we are all suffering because of it. I keep hearing “my 2nd amendment rights” as some abstraction that overrides our individual and collective well being. Joe the plumber really put it out there honestly years ago “your dead kids don’t Trump my second amendment rights”. This is really where these people are at. How am I supposed to have an ounce of goodwill to anyone who feels that way?
Because it's a valid stance. Am I supposed to give up my driving privileges because some asshole drunk driver killed a family on the road? Driving privileges aren't even enshrined in the Bill of Rights. If the Constitution is such a problem for you, there are other countries with their own constitutions. Take your pick.
I don't recall seeing one from you either, I was speaking to the audience in general. But now you know what it feels like to be accused of insulting people when you've gone out of your way to not insult people.
