I think it is difficult to look at effectiveness of AWB for a few reasons The popularity and few crimes committed with them when enacted. Huge marketing and political pushes during and post bans that inflated the sales exponentially. Number of individuals that served and were familiar with the platform (plus the wannabe’s that, well you know) And well, BSC ammosexuals who are under constant death threats and need to prep and carry to go to the grocery store and by small/slim products

I think they’re basing that at least in part on a “RWDS” patch that he was purportedly wearing. I couldn’t see it on the pictures of him I saw and never heard of that patch before. I did see what appeared to be a tattoo on his hand, and some have been speculating he was a gang member or illegal immigrant, but that’d be hard to square with him being a licensed security guard.

I think some Hispanics view themselves as white. It was common among some Cubans I used to hang around in Miami decades ago. They don’t get the irony that white racists typically don’t view them as white. Maybe they “identify” as white and the racists respect that.
Former police chief of Miami I knew always said Miami Cubans were very often prejudiced against other races and identified as white.
Actually, it does. I grew up in Miami and a lot/most of the Cubans I knew considered themselves to be white. Edit to add: it appears I’m late to the party here.
