That’s because he had to start taking positions on issues. I plan on voting for him but I think the black women will win
I’m not saying two wrongs make a right. I am saying I support parental opt outs. I think it’s fair game to point out inconsistency where we see it.
Yes, I'm sure there were a large group of students and parents who felt robbed their school system didn't teach them all about LGBTQ. Dad!!@ They won't let us learn about queers! (Dad: OMMMMMMGGGG, son!! I'm calling an emergency school board meeting right this moment! Tell Pierre I will call zhis dadmother to let it know when the meeting will be held. This is absurd!). Mom forgot to wear her pride hat that day. Dad: Bi!@#!@ , wher'es your gd pride hat!~!
I don’t know if you’re drunk but this is nonsensical. Parental opt-outs seem reasonable to me when it comes to students learning about controversial subjects like gender identity and sexuality.
There should be no requirement to teach these sexual subjects in schools. There shouldn't be an opt in or opt out. Parents who choose to have these discussions with and teach it to their children have every right to do so. However, involving schools turns the sexual subjects into the tail wagging the dog, a large majority don't want these subjects taught to their children in the school system.
I was clearly understandable. Unless you live under a rock, you know how we handled this in the state of Florida. However, I made my point clear in post #32.
My version of freedom is reciprocal. True freedom requires that. "Freedom" that only goes one way is tyranny.
Freedom is not the same for all therefore it cannot be reciprocal. If you force someone to reciprocate your ideas of freedom even though they disagree, you become a tyrant and tyranny is the result. Montgomery County Maryland is a good example of tyranny. When the case gets to the SCOTUS, presuming the SCOTUS agrees to hear the case, those parents fighting for their children who have had their religious rights violated and their freedom trampled will be made whole. It is far past time that a case like this makes its way to the SCOTUS.
What? Explain. You have missed the point. Reciprocal freedom means that I get to express my ideas and you get to express yours. Tyranny is me getting to express my ideas and you not getting to express yours. If this is your argument, okay. Maryland has determined that it is age appropriate to teach these things, but certain parents want the freedom to opt their children out. Their freedom should overrule Maryland's decision, right? So when Florida determines that it's not age appropriate to teach it, do certain parents have the right to opt their children in? After all, those children have a First Amendment right to receive information and their parents consider that information age appropriate. So their freedom should overrule Florida's decision, right?
There is absolutely no need to teach sexuality and gender confusion in public schools as the internet is available for such research. Further, if a kid thinks they are sexually abnormal or need to change their identity, the parents must deal with that, not unrelated public school teachers and administrators.
And parents can "opt in" with supplemental tutoring if they are bound and determined to make sure their children are taught about LGBTQ+. Somehow, I think the demand for that is going to be quite low.
