Mark Long should be fired

I didn't hear anything more egregious than I read on this message board almost daily. He can have his opinion and I can have hope that he is wrong.

 

I don’t care what his employer does.

But UF should revoke all his access privileges.

 

He's going to have a difficult time doing his job, even if he keeps his access.

 

Anyone got a transcript? Too lazy to mess with my audio settings to hear.

 

I want to wait and see where we are as a football program (after signing day) before I grade Napier, and that guy in the press should do that too. He got his answer and he should just move on.

 

His opinion should stick on an op/ed page, then. We don't need any credential from UF to post here, so we can say whatever we want here, within forum guidelines.

Tell the AP they are welcome to send someone to UF press conferences, just not this clown.

 

You do know that a sports column is an op-ed, or do you think Dooley only writes 100% facts?

I’m not sure where these guys get their cockiness from. Funny how saying he’ll be here longer than Billy may be the reason he’s not. Cue up Alanis’s Ironic.

I would like to see a transcript, but if the worse he said was "he guarantees he'll be there longer than Napier" in a private conversation caught on a hot mike then this is much ado about nothing. Most of these sportwriters have columns and they aren't usually shy about publicly stating their opinions.

Hoping that the media marches lockstep has been what UAA has done for 20 years and it’s how we’ve gotten into this mess of the writers/radio guys protecting coaches. I’m glad the guy has his own opinions. I have zero problem with this. I disagree with him. But we should NEVER want somebody to lose their job and definitely not march in lockstep with the coaches. We need writers to call out stuff. I want dissent. Healthy dissent. Nothing you wouldn’t see on this board. Move along. Nothing to see here

Nothing too egregious. It's just kind of rude and two-face.

 

The one thing that I heard that was inexcusable IMO is Long said that he guranteed that he would be here longer than Napier. SOunds like a real jackass slimeball.

 

What Penny Saver or Weekly Shopper does he work for?
