I couldn’t remember any names. I was stuck on the white shadow as the name of the movie. I knew that was wrong and I completely blanked on Bruce Jenner.

Marcus got hosed, IMHO. Every brother in the effn world uses the vernacular he was using, especially in Rap music. Should he of known better? Yes. Was he chastised beyond belief? Yes! Too bad. We all do dumb stuff at that age.

Who knows how good the kid really was. At that age, he was undeveloped and hadn't even thrown a pass in college yet. I saw quite a bit of video on the kid and he looked decent to me. Looked like he had upside- not the second coming.

Truly unfortunate. He screwed himself out of a scholly and got blackballed all in one clean sweep. Obviously, the University had no options.

It's a cruel world out there. Ya gotta watch where you step. Some a that stink will stick to ya...

    Go Gators.

If he balls out at UWF over the next 2 yrs, several big programs will be looking at him when he hits the portal.
All will be forgotten and forgiven.

right like i really can understand why UF made the move they did. I get it.

on the flip side, i still believe a lower P5/non P5 school should have taken a flyer on him.

a team like La Tech, Temple, ECU is what im mean. They wouldn’t have faced any “pr” hit and could withstand any minor “backlash” from kt because let’s be real, nobody nationally cares about those football programs

I totally agree with you Bobby. But look at the backlash the HBC from Albany State was hit with when he offered Stokes a scholarship after UF pulled theirs.
Stokes was very nearly totally blackballed from playing college football for his moment of indiscretion. What he did was wrong and very distasteful but, the punishment in this case far exceeds the crime.
I applaud the HBC at Albany States for having the courage to give Stokes a chance to play there, at a predominantly black university BTW, even though the backlash was too intense and for the sake of the university he had to back off. I can’t blame him. I would have reacted the same way.
I hope Stokes has learned from this and is able to have success at West Florida and beyond. He has his opportunity now, albeit on a smaller scale than he had hoped for, so the ball is in his court now.

Not many Pcola cares much about uwf football and not many besides gators fans even know he’s here. He will get his chance under the radar unless we have some group with signs start marching around. You never know.

and by how raw of a QB he is, going to that level (for now) may benefit him more than being thrown into the pressure cooker that is UF for a program that’s starved for QB success. I hope the best for him

I’m afraid there might have been backlash in this day and time !! Maybe not but there are people who look for this to make trouble ….

And he may have never seen the field at UF anyway. Trask almost ran out of eligibility before he got his shot. He will probably play early at uwf and if he develops, he can move up.
