I think this is the most significant recruit in the White era so far. In state kid from Dade County playing at Montverde. Consensus Top 50 player nationally and a bigger kid. Should be a really good two year type player.
just curious (and also for a quick debate), but why would this recruit be more significant than tre or scottie?

Just an opinion but Tre was from Gainesville and Scottie was a long-term Prospect. This is an in-state kid that is good from the day he sets foot on the court!
We also had a really weird connection with Scottie that was totally random. That's how we got him. On this one we had to beat our in-state rival and we did.
i wasn't necessarily using hindsight. i was comparing their 247 ranking while they were in high school. even tho malik could shoot up to where tre and scottie finished, i think that's probably unlikely. just wondered why a top 45 recruit would be more significant than a top 10 and top 15 recruit. im just now seeing donnell's response.
understood. i will throw in that we beat unc and fsu for tre. we also beat behemoth kentucky for scottie. stoked we could get a highly rated local big man tho!
