Thanks. I believe you're 100% right. He seems to be predicted to miami, so not a true flip, but would be great to get more big time OL
Honestly if a kid has any ties to UM I would largely ignore them. If Bryant flips or Sampson commits awesome but I wouldn’t except anything from them other than clickbait. Honestly I think this Fletcher stuff is sketchy to.
Because I’m not the coaches recruiting them or the collectives paying them. I follow and like their stuff until they commit elsewhere. I’m just saying don’t buy the hype around these kids until something looks like it could legitimately happen. Also don’t bitch at the kids when they don’t come here.
i do believe in some of the heat Gator twitter has for insiders in that they play on UF fans for clicks by reporting ANY and EVERYTHING that could be beneficial to UF even if it’s baseless. I don’t blame ON3 and 247 for it but I do believe, obviously the respective staffs know more than anyone with these kids, but these leaks of secret visits and potential flips FOR UF gotta get plugged internally cause someone letting it out. Someone in these kids camps are letting the wrong folks know and it’s getting out and getting back to the staff of the school their committed to. Like Wednesday-Thursday we all knew Mark Fletcher was visiting…who’s leaking this?!?!? Keep it quiet!! You see Miami’s visitor list for the FSU game was sealed shut. All schools, not just UF, should advise committed kids to keep quiet from reporters if they are going to take a visit to a different school. If it gets out once your one campus or after the visit, cool
Personally I am over these tweeners that were pass rushers in high school trying to convert to LB in college. Give me true linebackers.
If I remember correctly, when CBN first arrived there was discussion about him looking for certain height/weight parameters for certain positions. If that is correct, I'd expect to see far fewer 'tweeners recruited by him.
Value gets wasted in empty stadiums with a weak fanbase. Value is high in sold out SEC venues. Just sayin. These kids know this and they are talking about it. No one wants to play in front of tiny baby crowds.
There was a pretty vocal contingent that complained incessantly about Grantham and his overabundance of tweener edge rushers on another board. It was difficult to take them serious at the time because they were so negative about every aspect of the program but in hindsight they were absolutely correct. Another case where the fan knew better than the staff. I generally defer to the experts i.e. the coaches but it is a bit stunning how many times a group of fans have called out issues with the program as they were happening.
Give me 3*s Miller and Reese type of MLB in college football and I'll be happy with those types of guys playing for UF.
