It's been described as the "greater fool" theory. I originally became aware of the term in reference to fashionable grossly overvalued stocks. Real valuation is ignored with the implicit expectation that a greater fool will be willing to purchase the stock down the line or in this case the NFT (although off-topic also applies to crypto). It's usually the "little guy" who gets left holding the bag. Giving Trump credit where credit is due he is not only a persuasive con artist but also a very creative one. Maybe some of the graduates of Trump University will use their profits from real estate investing to purchase Trump's NFTs.

 

I wouldn't be so sure he gets 10%. He isn't really the owner... he only licensed his name and image. I don't know what the details are on that license deal, but I doubt it is 100% of the ongoing earnings.

 

My bet is they were created with AI. There are some amazing applications out there where you can create some pretty cool stuff just by entering a few word prompts.
