This is a once in a generation bump. That game you had a rematch between maybe the greatest player ever (who happens to be white, which does matter given the country’s demographics), and the greatest coach ever, who also happens to be a a Bond villain. Along with the conflicting views on Reese that drew people in. The sport will likely benefit some long term, but look at what happened to golf ratings when Tiger left for example. The sport had to prove that it’s bigger than a star player for it to matter long term.
Likely true. It would be nice to see it get some traction--esp if Shaq's daughter can become one of the stars of the future.
With Shaq's daughter coming in next year, it would be nice if we were Mulkey's biggest problem for a few years.
Mulkey is the most visible and obnoxious women’s basketball coach. However, I do not believe she is the sport’s greatest coach ever, and she won’t change that unless she goes on a huge streak to close out her career. Geno Auriemma has 11 national titles.
