LSU vs Wake (MCWS Elimination Game) - Thurs. 6/22 7pm ET - ESPN 2

I'm glad LSU won last night because it forces both teams to pitch their ace tonight. However, I want Wake Forest to win. Don't like the Tigers.

 

I'd like to play WF. We can win it all by beating the #1 seed and not have to deal with the LSU fans -- should this fanbase show their true colors.

It's going to be a tall order though for Wake to beat LSU with Skenes on the mound - but it doesn't matter too much - whoever wins, both LSU and Wake will be burning their top starting pitcher tonight - so won't face either of them in the 1st two games of the finals

 

If it is close in the later innings then you would think WF has the edge out of the bullpen.

 

I can't stand LSU, all sports. I consider LSU to be a bitter rivalry since they made us go to Baton Rouge in 2015 or cancel the game after the football game was postponed for the hurricane. That the Gators won that game doesn't matter. It's still a bitter rivalry. A repeat of CWS 2017 would shut down Tiger fan mouthing. That would be heavenly.

Wake Forest appears to have the better/deeper pitching staff beyond Skenes. I'm thinking Wake might be the tougher out simply because of the extra game (5) LSU will have played to get to the championship series.

Too bad both teams losing isn't an option tonight. Since the game starts at 6 PM CT, I hope they play many extra innings, and the game doesn't end until midnight. That's probably the best option for UF fans to root for.

Tonight's game will be worth the price of admission. The two aces going head-to-head-- both projected to be top ten draft picks. It should be an outstanding ballgame. No preference on who wins - but I'd give the edge to LSU- they seem mentally tougher than Wake.

 

Line has been fluctuating; saw it at -190 earlier, up to -200, now down to -160 (favoring LSU).

First time I've seen WF Skeered

 

IMHAWIO, Skenes got calls in the first game on his reputation alone. The home blue was consistently inconsistent but allowed the LSU catcher to frame and I commented that blue must have a crush on Skenes.

I take nothing away from him. He's a phenom...but I think he gets calls on rep.

 

To be fair he has incredible command and is around the plate thus he will get some calls that others may not.

 

Fully agree- when a pitcher has excellent command and is around the plate consistently- as Skenes is- he will get borderline or just off the plate strike calls at times. The opposite of Cags- who is all over the place and then gets squeezed on a few calls- it happened yesterday with Head behind the plate.

 

I'm hoping tonight's game goes for 13 innings.

Have seen some stuff that there’s a change Lowder or Skenes won’t start tonight. I wonder if that’s just gamesmanship or if there is something to it? I feel like both teams are just kind of waiting for the other side to confirm it before they make their decision. If it was us, I would want Sully to go ahead and throw Sproat and then figure it out from there.
