From same source: 8:45 Update: The same person who told me about Sale visiting and that Howard would make an announcement tonight (he did, tweeting out he was leaving LSU), just told me that from what he heard, it won’t be Florida.
That's fine, but to get to the NFL he has to put up numbers so Kiffin seems the better choice. I would hope he comes here so we have options, but totally understand why he would choose Ole Miss.
Do you think he's going to sit behind Dart for two years at Ole Miss? Why would any good QB want to go there? At least here he could start if all goes the way I think it will.
To get to the NFL, he has to To get to the NFL, he has to start which is far more likely IMO at Florida than Ole Miss. Jaxson Dart is the incumbent and isn't terrible. Plus Kiffin seems to love to "portalize" the QB position so its not like Walker is guaranteed after Dart leaves.
Nfl doesn’t care what numbers a qb puts up. It is what they put on game film that matters. Daniel Jones stats were pedestrians , josh Allen’s we’re actually poor and AR is a projected first rounder with average to below average passing stats. All first or projected first rounders. Getting playing time - starting - does matter though.
Truth be told, Dart numbers aren't different from AR other than completion %.....which is mostly on AR and not the system. If AR is just slightly more accurate he has a better year than Dart AR 176-327 2549 yds, 17 TD, 9int (12 games). 212 yds /game Dart 226-362 2974yds, 20 td, 11 int (13 games) 228 yds/game Dart rushed for 614, AR for 740
This can't be true. I'm told Napier's offense hasn't evolved from 1980s Alabama style offense and kiffins passing game is 20 years ahead.
Funny thing is, outside of the stellar year from Trask, CBN avg 29.9 pts per game, the exact same combined avg as the 3 other years in mullens tenure
Not surprising. People have a tendency on here to get their hopes and get mad when it's not delivered.
Can he beat out Dart, last year’s transfer portal darling? Dart has two years of experience and Howard has played in one game.
Kind of sad if we can't convince a guy to not wait until his 5th year to start (or never). Or is there some magic that Kiffin is going to teach him for a year before he heads to the FCS to finally start?
The Rashada mess is out of his hands, but Napier has fumbled this badly, sorry to say. It's his fault for jumping at the opportunity to get Mertz before the bowl games were even done. It made zero sense at the time and makes even less sense now. Now it's cost him a high quality QB prospect that he's known since he was an 8th grader. Just baffling.
