Trump leads, Gaetz follows and has the ability to recall the SOH if his maga gang votes with him. who would you say is in charge of what?

    Interesting Gaetz is becoming
a de facto leader for maga.

“Mike Johnson and Kevin McCarthy both promised us a path to single-subject spending bills. In seven months of Kevin McCarthy being Speaker, he only delivered one of them," Gaetz said. "If Mike Johnson is only able to deliver one of them over seven months, then he would likely face a motion to vacate."

Problem: nothing on the table. No serious proposal from the same clowns who propose “shutting down the govt”.

Causing even temporary govt shutdowns is at best a slight net-negative to the govt’s fiscal health (since each one disrupts economic activity slightly, whilst providing exactly zero savings). More protracted political chaos and instability are only accelerants to this supposed concern you have over ruination.

And a shutdown isn’t in anyone’s best interest, right?
So, his hand was forced. Just like his predecessor, who was removed for the same thing.
We’ll just agree to disagree on our perspective there.

IF they go for the shutdown they can then wear that like an albatross around their necks at election time, just like their other albatross on abortion. wtg gop.

You should refer to them as NIL, RINOs... they are on your "team."

For the sake of our country functioning I hope not. For the continued shitshow that is the GOP and the hopes it can somehow be born again out of this as a functioning party, yes.

This time before the last shutdown threat I had gotten at least a dozen emails at work about the potential shutdown. So far this round, I’ve received just 1. So perhaps the odds are much less this time

Because of some republican gamesmanship, this vote needed 2/3 to pass ... so this passed without republicans meeting the threshold.

    Good job, Pubs.

No other good place for it so I’ll post here. Periodic reminder that the new house leaders is truly a nutty fruitloop. The good news is that som none of us will hear of him again. He’s not going to last. Need to run ALL of these religious nuts out of govt.

WATCH: GOP Speaker Johnson’s Anti-LGBTQ Rant About ‘Depraved’ America — Just WEEKS Ago

The segment was filmed Oct. 3, just weeks before Johnson’s unexpected rise to become speaker of the House. Garlow pressed the clean-cut Louisiana congressman to say “more about this ‘time of judgment’ for America.” Johnson replied: “The culture is so dark and depraved that it almost seems irredeemable.” He cited, as supposed evidence, the decline of national church attendance and the rise of LGBTQ youth — the fact, Johnson lamented, that “one-in-four high school students identifies as something other than straight.”
