UGA dropped Oklahoma from its schedule this year. Why can’t we change our 2024 schedule since strength of schedule does not matter?

It is tough being Billy Napier. I am concerned that he is the right coach at the wrong time.

he would have been perfect after a Meyer or a Spurrier, but coming into to try to right a ship that has been floundering since before the CFP started in 2014 is a monumental if not an impossible task.

With both the football program, and the basketball program in eerie sense of complacency with losing has set in.

Quite frankly the Aaron Hernandez debacle though no one will admit it, set the tone for one of the most forceful and damaging negative recruiting eras this program has seen.

Up until Billy, let’s face it, we were excited about landing 3 star recruits. Don’t deny it!!!

As our trajectory of talent plummeted, so did our performance outcomes. Billy has righted that ship remarkably and admirably.

It stands to reason therefore that we have to give him time to take what is necessary to win on this level and shape us into the program that we once were.

    THAT BEING SAID

Because the metrics posted today are a clear cut indication that in year two overall, the team has performed worse than it did in his first year, it has reached a crunch time reality for him.

the third year is any effect a last gasp for him. Florida faces “Tennessee” like obscurity if we don’t do something positive soon.

The CFP has been operating since 2014, and Florida has NEVER been a contender for one of the four positions.

It is unlikely we will be next year so that will put his tenure at 30% of those down years (3/10).

You can’t make close to 20
Million in three years and not even contend for a playoff position. That is colossal, corporate waste and a disgrace to our program and school.

It’s do or die for him next year. He has to at least contend for the SEC East, and get to a respectable bowl or he’s out.

Not sure competing for the SEC East is realistic.

But lets say that is the demand placed on him. Question is how does he do it?

Not sure there are enough changes he can make or portal guys he can bring in to go 9-3/10-2 with our schedule.

There is no more SEC East, that ended last Sat night. It’s the top 2, and everyone else now. The thought of UF earning one of those 2 spots seems virtually impossible, right now.

Forgot that. Yeah, Top 2 in the SEC seems light years away. So does the CFP. Nothing about Billy Napier inspires that type of hope and confidence. The only goodwill he has with Gator Nation is recruiting, and right now his roster and recruiting class are both getting raided.

I think we have reached a law of averages point. It’s Mk not like quality talent is not coming to us via HS and the portal. Peaesall is a first round draft pick. Johnson will be a middle round draft pick. We got Wilson and Collins who will be pre season All SEC players

there are complaints about players not being developed properly. I think it’s just giving the system a chance to develop. As a system develops players will develop. When you don’t keep a system in place long enough for it to develop, nothing ever happens positive.

Gainesville Buchholz defensive lineman Kendall Jackson, who backed off his long time commitment to Florida a couple of weeks ago has now committed to Miami.

    Looking back at this stat
Florida is 17-24 last 41 games. Out of those 17 wins..only 4 had a winning record.

I agree with this but we are imo in a downward spiral. First, 3 losing seasons, two with this current coach. Second, we are getting killed by the media with tons of negative articles. Third, we are approaching the portal without 2 key assistant coaches which will hinder getting top prospects and may contribute to losing some committed players. Next, without good to great line play, this is a line of scrimmage league, we will once again have issues. And lastly, whether it's real or not, BN is on the hot seat. Why this is devastating is that coaches will use this to poach our players, why go there when he may be fired in a year or two. Also, will top assistant coaches take a chance on a coach that has had 2 losing seasons and whose schedule is just as hard this coming year? I just hope BN pulls a rabbit out of a hat.

I don't have faith in Napier turning it around. I think he gets fired next season. He has by far the worst record through his first and second seasons compared to zook, mullen, Muschamp, and McElwain. That speaks for itself. Back to back losing seasons, the class is falling apart, top players are transferring, and we still have bad coaches like the OL coaches on the staff

Your last three sentences are telling...and unfortunately true. The last says it all...we are now relegated to hoping for a miracle to just be competitive. Thats not how it should work at UF ever and if youre in that position you've likely got the wrong guy.

We are in the same boat we were in ten years ago. A coach in over his head and hoping for some kind of miracle turn around season. The total lack of discipline is downright infuriating, it ranges from false starts to just bad character unsportsmanlike penalties. All the special teams, defensive, and offense issues were bad enough but discipline and accountability at the basic levels have to get solved.

I’m not even mad at Billy. He took a big time job that he was not ready for, can’t blame him for taking his shot. My frustration is targeted on the administration and anyone of influence that stood in the way making a hire like Freeze or Kiffin. I hope like hell Billy proves me wrong and we are in the CFP next season. Being top 12 in year 3 at UF should be the minimum, if he can’t do that he needs to go and Stricklin should be gone well before him.

Marco is a moron. He gave that game away.

Well, Napier is developing a better group of kids. If he can't win, it will take more years then he certainly has. He'll have to pull a giraffe out of a thimble this year to stick around the year after.

Hope reins supreme in DJ. Lagway. Help save us, DJ.
