Funny, you know damn well that the GQP practices voter suppression everywhere they can. Are you denying this?

 

Record turnout doesn't prove suppression per se, it just proves people are willing to work harder to vote, which is a good thing.

Here's something about Ga since you asked:

The number of ballot drop boxes in the 4 county metro Atlanta area (Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton and Gwinnett, of which I live in Fulton) was reduced from 94 to 23 under the new law, the polling station for early voting nearest my home was permanently closed and the hours of early voting dates and times were also reduced. Do you think any of these changes make it EASIER for me to vote?

Maybe do some research instead of parroting talking points for once.

 

The issue isn't whether I was "worried", the issue is whether the new law makse it harder to vote by lawful means, and there is no question that it does in metro Atlanta. That part isn't even debatable. And guess where most of the Democrats in GA live? In rural counties the changes actually helped.

But to your (unrelated) point, I actually tried to vote by mail in the 2020 primaries at the height of covid and registered for a ballot but never got one (despite getting an email confirmation of my approved registration), and as a result wasn't allowed to vote on Election Day because the state had me in the system as a voter by mail, despite my never receiving a ballot. So I'm certainly not doing that again.

 

The logic from some in this thread is so laughable.

 

There is a big difference in having an opinion on whether real policies and actions suppresses the ability to vote vs making up secret bamboo ballots, suitcases of fake ballots, and systemic program miscounts contrived by democrats.

You're right. Let's use a hypothetical. My objective is to run a lap around a high school track. The first lap I run with no hurdles and finish no problem. The second lap I run has 10 hurdles, but I still overcome them and finish, a little gassed. The final lap I run has 20 hurdles. I stumble over a few near the end, drag myself to the finish absolutely gassed, and I barely make it.

Based on the rationale employed by some, because I finished all three laps, adding the hurdles didn't matter. Just because voters will put the effort in to surmount the hurdles doesn't mean they have no effect. And it doesn't mean that those hurdles don't deter some people from trying to vote who would do so if it was much, much easier. Then again, some Republicans think that's a good thing (which is repulsive):

What she actually said was that the counting of the cast votes was fair, but that Kemp’s trimming of the voter rolls while he was GA SOS (an inherent conflict while he was running for governor) was suppressive as most of those voters who were purged were lower income blacks.
