It's possible... nay... likely that all of these guys are schmucks. We need to bring back a culture where all politicians are hated. None of these guys are heroes... at best some of them are necessary evils.
No I think he is full of it, but I’m asking from a conservative position - he said all the other charges were witch hunts, but these are not. Does that hold any credibility with you? Or is it just as simple as whomever doesn’t support Trump = bad.
It’s kinda funny watching the 1988 media montage on Biden. Night and day from what it’s like today. They were brutally savage about all of his lies and didn’t hold anything back. Yes, those were the days.
A plea offer WILL be offered if Trump requests one, he just probably won't like it. One thing nobody is considering is how many plea deals and/or immunity offers have already been made to witnesses/potential defendants because Trump pushed the envelope this far. Trump is accountable for that. If other peoples' criminality is going unpunished or lightly punished due to Trump's horribly ill-advised stonewalling and worse....obstructing...that's a price Trump will have to pay. It's funny how some of his most stalwart, this is a nothing burger, communist inspired, witch hunt fanboys have finally gotten a dial tone now that they've read the indictment. One thing I'm certain of is that Jack Smith has a parade of witnesses to support the allegations of the indictment. Then there is Waltine Nalta. Guess who is paying for his attorney, Stanley Woodward? The same entity paying Trump's legal bills, Save America. Save America has been paying the legal bills for a lot of witnesses.
You must have been outraged during the ten Benghazi investigations, six by Republican controlled subcommittees. I'm also sure you were laughing with the rest of us over the Durham "Mother of All Investigations." I kid, we all know neither is correct. One more Benghazi investigation and you would have had crooked Hillary dead to rights. You were likely salivating over Durham nabbing some big leftie fish and you wound up with one guy pleading to a misdemeanor for probation and community service hours. Hell, you still want to charge Hillary Clinton over her emails with a yet to named violation of the Espionage Act. But now you see your boy's nuts, such as they are, in a sling and you've had this awakening..."Let's keep politics out of these investigations." Until the next time a Dem does something you don't like. Then it will be "mother of all investigations" time again.
It was amazing/disgusting to listen to Jim Jordan defend Trump in a CNN interview. He said over and over that Trump had the right to handle documents anyway he wanted to. Through repetition his "point" became perfectly clear. IOW if Trump handed out copies of defense secrets to people waiting in line for them at Mar-a-Lago, that would be okay with Jordan, because Trump had that right. I had to turn it off. I will never listen to another word from that absolute POS. At my age it's not healthy.
"Framed"? He had multiple people around him convicted of improper russian relationships. He was never charged with it legally as the Mueller report said "we dunno but he sure did hamper our investigation". I to this day can accuse him of being a russian stooge but the legal system never charged that. Worked just like it was supposed to. The republicans voted against impeaching the first time because of politics and it led to Jan 6 but that is their prerogative. They voted against the second time because they were cowards, again, their prerogative. WTF... so what? Did you read the indictment yet?
1. The former GOP Senate Intelligence committee report indicated that Russia wanted him to win and his campaign worked with the Russians. 2. He's the first president to ever get a a Senator from his own party to vote for conviction in an impeachment trial. 3. Don't remember that charge, who cares. 4. He's the first career criminal that acquired the presidency. He doesn't lead any legitimate polls for 2024. He's running a 2nd time both to feed his narcissism and to hopefully gain the ability to pardon himself.
Here's another thought for everyone saying, "who cares if he's guilty; this establishes a bad political precedent." If Trump skates on document violations this serious, how do you convict anyone ever again, especially the high profile people, on anything similar? How do you expect people to respect secret information if the fear of dealing with it inappropriately goes away?
It seems tough for us to know that both of these are true. If he broke the law in such a way that made it easy as possible to prove, perhaps that is the reason he was targeted.
Odd that poster says that "fishing for shit against political rivals until something sticks" would consist of Trump being indicted by Alvin Bragg on numerous counts, Trump's company found guilty and fined in NY , being CONVICTED of sexual assault, currently investigated in Ga for RICO charges, under active investigation for the 1/6 insurrection and now indicted on 37 counts. That's not fishing at all, that's shooting ducks in a damn barrell. LOL
It is definitely true that Trump has been targeted by democrats repeatedly. This analysis runs into the same problem as above, however, as this might be because of how Trump behaved. The Clinton foundation was investigated repeatedly. Is that evidence that it was shady, or that the justice system unfairly targeted it?
This certainly wasn't targeting. He refused to cooperate with NARA until they were forced to refer the matter to the FBI. Then he refused to cooperate with the FBI. No targeting there, just pure hubris thinking that nothing would happen to him. Even if you want to argue he was unfairly targeted in the past, so what? How does that have any impact on this circumstance? Does he get a free crime because of past mistreatment?
"The Clinton Foundation is criminal" is an RNC construct. "DJT is a career criminal" is true. There's your difference.
If Biden was a Republican he’d be getting railed for the “inconsistencies” in his past by the same people on here railing against Trump. It’s comical. I think Trump is an asshat for the record and absolute power corrupts absolutely. I wish he’d go away but the double standard for investigation and potential prosecution should be alarming to anyone in this country.
Not to agree with your statement, but as a devil's advocate exercise, please choose which of these prosecutions vs Trump should be curtailed as a double standard. "Odd that poster says that "fishing for shit against political rivals until something sticks" would consist of Trump being indicted by Alvin Bragg on numerous counts, Trump's company found guilty and fined in NY , being CONVICTED of sexual assault, currently investigated in Ga for RICO charges, under active investigation for the 1/6 insurrection and now indicted on 37 counts."
Right, so in your view, when the Clinton foundation was repeatedly investigated, it was because the DOJ was acting improperly, but it was justified in investigating Trump. In the view of others, this is exactly reversed. What I am suggesting is that we need an objective method to adjudicate this debate, because so often we simply see the situation in the light most favorable to our own side.
