While I have always been against this type of stuff from either side, I don't know how someone on the right squares this whole saga. Many have sworn off Trump because of many different things. I feel there is a general negative feeling towards him. Now, we are going to defend him? Are you defending him just because he is considered a Republican? If not, what the heckle are you defending? Trump U was a serious grift. Like Don Lepre bad. How he avoided jail time for that crime alone, is a wonder in itself.

The typical whitewashing you do. The law regarding unauthorized possession of classified materials doesn’t give the offender an out as long as they cooperate in the investigation. It’s a very serious crime and lol that white collar crimes somehow get a pass as long as the offender cooperates with investigators.

The bottom line is Biden and Hillary broke the law. In Hillary’s case, stating she cooperated by using bleach bit on a hard drive and hammers to destroy a bunch of cell phones doesn’t sound like cooperation to me. They all broke the law. Whitewashing it is going to land us in banana republic status. Either prosecute them all or STFU and move on. Because if you cared, they all get prosecuted.

I didn’t realize a VP having papers all over his garage was ok. You’ll have to show me where that was allowed.
Also, Hillary’s case is even worse. Specifically cannot have sensitive or classified documents on a personal computer. Did anyhow and then bleached the HD. Wiener boy getting some it on top of that was cherry on top.

I don’t know what’s typical but I do recall that General Patraeus got probation and a lady who threw a slushy at Matt Gaetz spent some time in Federal jail.

Guys, when you talk about “bleaching” the hard drive, you give away that you don’t know what you are taking about.

It is 100% S.O.P. to wipe hard drives in govt and corporate America. You think that after the server was decommissioned from her time as Secretary of State she should have … what…sold the server hardware and hard drives on eBay as-is? Left it in the closet? The emails get archived, then the drive is wiped and destroyed. This is how it works. Everywhere.

The *only* contention is the Republicans wanted the other half of those emails. The ones that the lawyers marked “personal” rather than part of the govt permanent record (and this is textbook as to why it’s a terrible idea to intermingle them, Clinton was an idiot or probably did have business to hide). The Republicans obviously wanted those PERSONAL emails hoping to find embarrassing stuff. This is what Trump referred to as the “missing” emails. The infamous “Russia are you listening”, which was his public call for the Russians to hack those emails (or to dump them if they already did). If you think that was going to be a treasure trove of illegal classified documents you are the mark, and sadly, not very smart.

Reading the idictment, this just stopped me.

    3. The classified documents TRUMP stored in his boxes included information regarding defense and weapons capabilities of both the United States and foreign countries; United States nuclear programs; potential vulnerabilities of the United States and its allies to military attack; and plans for possible retaliation in response to a foreign attack. The unauthorized disclosure of these classified documents could put at risk the national security of the United States, foreign relations, the safety of the United States military, and human sources and the continued viability of sensitive intelligence collection methods.

Listening to David Brooks, the conservative commentator say, here is the ex commander in chief, the person we expect to protect the armed forces and our country, acting like a spoiled 8 year old who couldnt care less about endangering the people protecting our country. When are republicans going to wake up? What is it going to take?

Hillary intentionally evaded the preservation of documents laws by setting up a private e-mail server for that very purpose. It doesn’t get much more uncooperative than that. All federal employees are required to use their .gov email addresses for public records. She knew exactly what she was doing. Anyone who thinks otherwise is living in a fantasy world. Hell, even state and local government employees are required to use their .gov email accounts to conduct official business.

So many prior Trump defenders are not defending him today. Like every time a shocking revelation about him comes out. That will change. They will come around in a few days when they get over the shock and come up with a narrative.

    Same as it ever was

Trump is a master of creating fear. I suspect they mostly hate him, but no one's gonna say it.
