Trump could sit in the middle of the street on 5th Avenue reading the documents aloud and his supporters would believe him when he said he didn’t have them.

But as I told my wife earlier this week-I have to give him credit. His ability to claim victimhood while simultaneously and psychopathically spinning lie after lie spontaneously without regard to any previous lie is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before.

 

Said it before Donald Trump is the greatest con artist in history. As the charismatic leader of a cult, Jim Jones, David Koresh, and L. Ron Hubbard (founder of the Church of Scientology) have nothing on Donald Trump. His ability to persuade his working class followers to donate their hard earned dollars to him a supposed billionaire still amazes me.

I read it as "psychopathologically", but “Psychopathetically” has a good ring too.

I have never seen a more self-destructive human being in my entire life.

And I've seen some pretty damn big ones.

 

To me it’s not him being self-destructive (though he has a tendency to openly commit or confess to his crimes and has poor diet and exercise habits) as much as it is his ability to convince his followers that he is not who he shows us he is. And the grift is world class.

 

I think his hubris, his vindictiveness, and his willingness to lie about matters small and big are self-destructive and do represent his greatest vulnerabilities. Having said that, those attributes are probably his greatest strength as well.

I used to argue with people calling him dumb because I think his speech and behavior are mostly an act. He showed in the GOP debates that he can be quick on his feet and street savvy even if he knows relatively little about policy details. I have begun to reconsider whether I was wrong and he's just not that smart because he's facing serious legal problems and keeps doubling down. I suppose it's worked his entire life, and he's not going to change his spots or his strategy at this point.

 

He’s crafty but he’s still extremely dumb.

 

He’s self destructive, but not in the traditional way. Most self destructive people do it because they don’t like themselves, or are afraid of success.
He is the opposite. He does it out of delusions of grandeur and an absolute pathological inability to admit he is wrong and change course. His supporters see it as strength and is largely why many love the guy, which is the ultimate irony because it’s far and away his biggest weakness.

 

I don't know of any president/presidential candidate we've ever had that would burn the country down to save themselves before Trump.

Of his many disqualifying traits for higher office, this has to be #1.

Interesting take in this podcast episode. You're talking about whether the defense will try to exclude the audio tape and the document of the Iran attack plan that he was showing to the ghostwriters. He did it at Bedminster. So if Aileen Cannon excludes it, they can just file a separate indictment in New Jersey. Interesting thought

That's funny. A lot of people will not catch the reference but I do. Man was that heavy and required a lot of pallbearers. I have a friend who's a former Congressional Chief of Staff and she is absolutely convinced and says a lot of other people are in the DC gossip circles as well. Take that for what it's worth.

But seriously, the main weakness in the point was that I think he's going to file up there anyway.
