This practice was always obvious and heinous.

I agree although the justification did have some logic if you squint hard enough. That justification being that largest items posted first so people's most important bills (rent, mortgage, car payments) are paid first.

When I was at UF the credit union (Sunstate) called me up one day and told me that I had a check coming in that would cause an overdraft fee, and could I come in and deposit some money so they didn't have to charge me. So I came in and deposited a couple bucks and didn't have to pay the fee. Kept that account even after I moved.

Well I did say I was young.

    You know the old saying:
"If You Are Not a Liberal When You Are Young, You Have No Heart, and If You Are Not a Conservative When Old, You Have No Brain. "

Yep. Fortunate enough to use two CU's nowadays. Know our banker on first name bases. Know about her kids. I never have to do anything but send an email or call her personal cell and she handles any needs.

Good luck getting your Wells Fargo reps personal cell. :D

Just cause you are giving her all your money, doesn't make her a banker. ;)

Banks are going to bank. If they don’t make money on overdraft fees they are going to raise rates and/or charge higher fees for other services.

I love to watch/read the Left: “Freedom! Freedom of choice!”
Democrats- Mr. Restaurant owner- you MUST now pay people more money. Mr. Banker- you may NOT charge such and such. “Freedom! Trump will destroy democracy!”

I’ll concede your point but only as a convenient dodge (theirs not you) imo. It also offers the bank the highest fees possible - or maybe they do it to benefit customers? Just like the management of Wells-Fargo was trying to help their customers by charging them for accounts and services they didn’t need or know about.

    Lying to myself about what?

Fiscal sanity? He’s been worse than Trump, Bush, far worse than Clinton, Bush 43, and Reagan.

Debt reduction? While no president in my adult life gets a passing grade here, what Biden did was just plain stupid.

Economy? Yea, young people getting started, old people on fixed or limited income, public service workers, union employees have had a grand time over the last 3 years. But hey market and hedge funds loved it; short the downturn, let margin pump up the rebound.

Immigration and Border? Yea, we know.

Defense? Slams the brakes on spending in 2021, then stomps on the gas in 2022 after creates/allows to happen a war between Russia and Ukraine, then adopts it as a proxy war.

Leaves billions of $ of equipment in Afghanistan. And don’t get me started that Javelins, HIMARS, and night vision gear isn’t now property of the Russians.

Defense Secretary doesn’t even tell Commander in Chief he’s going in for surgery with all of the shit going on in the world?

Foundation for Economic Development? Yep, high interest rates and ridiculous regulations are sure going to be great for that.

Vaccine Mandate? Yeah that was a great leadership move!

I guess we can give him credit for making a cocaine scandal in the White House go away giving us the pleasure of seeing Rachel Levine and Sam Britton on a regular basis.

Oh what am I complaining about? I’ve got more income and principal than I will ever need for retirement. I guess I’m just being selfish.

Of the many stupid comments here, blaming Biden for Putin invading Ukraine tops the cake.

I think it's time for someone to have their warm milk and flip through the channels until Lawrence Welk or Jesse Watters comes on the furniture cabinet enclosed TV.

    No blame. Just facts:
Obama is President - Putin invades and takes Crimea
Trump is President - we hear stories about how Putin owns Trump
Biden is President - Putin invades Ukraine
Result: everyone is afraid of Trump and Putin; because, what are you going to believe: the Media or your lying eyes?

Oh don’t worry about me. I still have plenty of gas in the tank.

If you’re curious about it, come and break in through my pool deck doors any evening when I’m in town. Don’t worry, I stay up late. The last thing you will see before your lights go out forever will be whatever is on my 85” LG OLED, unenclosed, of course (much to big for a cabinet, don’t you think). If you’re lucky I’ll be playing the Tom Petty 30th Anniversary Concert from the O’ Dome. Not only will you see 85” inch video, but you will hear great audio. We don’t use run of the mill audio gear or stream compressed Bluetooth around here.

Don’t make the mistake of trying it while I’m not in town and Mrs aging is home alone. You will prefer my response much better than the dogs’ response.

Anyways, enjoy your economic future with Bidenomics. Glad to will be getting what you voted for.

It must be nice to only be able to see things in such simplistic terms.

How about looking just a wee bit deeper.

Putin invades Crimea and loses the minimal support he was getting from the US and Obama.

US put in sanctions that hurt Russia and pisses off Putin.

Putin sees Trump as a chance to try and put a useful idiot (if not pure traitor) in as POTUS and does everything he can do to get Trump elected.

Trump wins and starts doing his bidding, working to weaken NATO and has plans to pull out of NATO altogether in 2nd term.

But the US wakes up and says, "Oh hell no." and rejects him.

Putin, seeing that his chance to get the US out of the way is off the table and that Biden is building back NATO support, decides it is now or never and attacks.
