These are the signing times for our commits who, apparently, are still considering other schools, per Gator Country.com 10:00 A.M.- Defensive line commit LJ McCray- McCray will announce a final decision between UF, Florida State, and Auburn at this time. 1:15 P.M.- Linebacker commit Adarius Hayes- Hayes plans to announce a final decision between Florida and Miami at this time. 1:40 P.M.- Defensive line commit Amaris Williams- Williams plans to announce a final decision between Auburn and Florida at this time. And here are the signing times of 3 guys they hope to flip: Florida targets: 1:15 P.M.- Defensive back Gregory Smith- Smith will choose between Florida, USF, Ole Miss, and Virginia. 6:30 P.M.- Running back Jadan Baugh- Baugh will announce between Alabama and Florida. Offensive lineman Favor Edwin- Edwin will announce between Alabama, Auburn, and Florida.
I didn't realized McCray was announcing...hell. how often does it work out for us when our "commits" announce again?
From all I've read, I still think we get McCray, but it's happened in the past that our coaches have been told a guy is signing and then they make a big splash on signing day and put a different hat on. Not often, but it's happened.
Another of our commits to watch for is LB Aaron Chiles from Maryland. He has not announced a signing time as far as I know, but one of the Rivals sites is showing Michigan making a push to flip him.
It is probably for both the families and the high school. They are the ones who want the attention IMO.
The right coach, right AD and a a great recruiter who can use the NIL and transfer portal effectively. Oh yeah players who have a sense of loyalty. The NFL ,agents and greed have ruined college football and it'll never be the same again.
Those things will help, but I just don't see us going "all in" with NIL with the goofballs we have to recruit against. And, again, it's hard to blame that philosophy. I can't imagine what Miami or Auburn paid to pick off some of the players that they did, but I imagine it is unconscienable.
We had 3 guys flip on signing day, but got the 2 top-rated players in Lagway & McCray, two guys you can build a team around. Our final composite recruiting ranking, per 247Sports, is #16, transfer signing ranking right now is #38, but hopefully Billy will get some more guys that can help this team immediately. Last year's composite ranking was #13, transfer signing ranking #16, the year before #18 & #20. The last Top 10 classes we had were 2019 & 2020, when we had a composite ranking of #9. To me the scary part is how many SEC school are ahead of us. This year 8 are, plus Miami & FSU. Also, right now we only have 1 commit for the 2025 class, Alabama has 8, Notre Dame 10, Georgia 7, etc.
