But the school still cashed that $ 100 mil check every year. I’m getting over it but maybe others will take my place and the money will keep flowing. Maybe the boosters like dropping millions directly to kid? Maybe their ego is stroked? Does it make them feel more part of the business than just writing a check to the school?
Napier sucks, I want my coaches right now, why can’t we win national championships, I need to give the coaches some advice, i’m sending my five bucks to help because the other schools have too much money and are buying all our players and I’m upset
Somewhere in here is a old Steve Spurrier quote about Auburn...I dont think you would have to dig too deep either.
It keeps the talk of student athletes becoming employees of the school/state down to a whisper. That would irreversibly ruin college football.
I’ve seen it for what it was all along. I’m thinking boosters will back off for most schools once they figure out they just bought a bad team year after year. If you can’t win, why pay up?
Because they still want to win and you definitely can’t win if you don’t pay up. I was hopeful it would stabilize and flatten out, but it’s only getting worse. Look at how much tamu just spent on jimbo to win nothing, then how much they spent again to fire him. It’s nuts, but it doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
The only consolation to what pains me and many Gators about all of the player movements is that we are not alone in this portal crap. Look around and you will see every school is feeling our pain too. And it will get worse even for the playoff teams after their season ends too. UGA and Bama will see movement in the portal in and out too. IOW, it's not just a Gators' thing. I just hope we end up slightly better off of where we were... and that hold on to our best recruits.
