Katie Britt is a wonderful true red blooded American. Her treatment on here is pathetic, I would say even racist, but part for the course around here.

I don't think she's high profile enough but I would be okay with Katie Britt as Trump's VP. Realistically though IMO it's going to be Tim Scott or Kristi Noem.

Katie brought all this on herself with the acting and the lies.
But don't worry Katie, you'll still have your looks for at least a few more years anyway. I hope you know how to cook.

Trump's never picking a woman unless they share their kneepad skills like Omarosa did.

Katie Britt has only herself to blame for the ridicule that she has been receiving. If she wrote her speech she should not have been so deceptive and if the speech had been written on her behalf she should verified the accuracy of the "facts" that she was implying were an accurate representation. It would have also been very helpful if she had rehearsed the delivery of the speech with an experienced acting coach or director. Just a guess I also suspect that Marco Rubio is secretly very thankful for Katie Britt's performance. From now on her speech will always be cited as an example of an SOTU reply gone wrong rather than Marco's with the water bottle. In case anyone may have forgotten.

He also chose Sarah Palin as his running mate, who basically was doing Trump before Trump. Sarah Palin walked so Katie Britt could run. And not long after that the Republicans blew control of the Senate in '10 by nominating that crazy lady in Nevada and the "I am a witch" lady.

And McCain later said he regretted that decision. She was the canary in the coal mine for where we are today for sure.

Kind of worth noting that when Sharron Angle used the phrase "Second Amendment remedies" when she was running for the Senate from Nevada in 2010 she was considered somewhat of a nutcake. When Trump was running for the presidency in 2016 he used similar language and received much less criticism.

She did have a pretty nice kitchen. Assuming that thing wasn’t a fake stage like Trumps boardroom on the apprentice.

It was to the point I made earlier in the thread about how crazy the “discourse” has gotten from the right in particular and how normalized it has become. I was told it wasn’t any worse than it has been historically. So I could refute that point and not start yet another thread about crazy republicans.
But if you’d like me to start another one I can.

Yeah, they both lost. They tried playing nice and have nothing to show for it except for wasting millions of donor dollars in the process. Yeah, great examples of what Senator Britt should be striving for.

Back over here in reality, Senator Britt's seat feels pretty safe in Tide country. She would make a great VP.

And since Trump’s election in 2016, republicans have lost ground in every election since. They lost the house in 2018, the lost the presidency and senate in 2020, in 2022 they did win back the house but it was expected to be a landslide and wasn’t even close to one.
So keep thinking yelling crazy things is a long term winning strategy.

It hurts republican feelings when they get fact checked… that’s all this is about…

That the story was BS is not even the issue. The story was presented as part of a rebuttal to President Biden's address without any material connection to the border crisis or anything in the president's speech. It was dishonest and emotionally manipulative to turn that woman's ordeal into an indictment on Biden's handling of the border crisis. She deserves all the criticism she got. It's not like CNN was the only news outlet calling her out.

And let's be honest. The staging and performative aspects of her rebuttal were just bizarre. The pandering to hyper-Christian, ultra-patriarchal family base came off like a spoof PSA on Saturday Night Live. I couldn't decide whether to laugh or cringe.

Are there two dumber members of the Senate than the two who represent Alabama?

Poor little Katie Britt getting picked on in her kitchen with a $10k frig.

Did you know her father-in-law owns the airline, Jet Blue? I think she will be ok.

Yes, it has really gotten out of control with political discourse. What none of the left here can see or will admit but the right can see, is that finally in the past 10 years or so, some of the R's are actually standing up and using the tactics the left has been using for a very long time. I know it is hard to accept when your opponent is willing to use the same kind of weaponry that you have been using for years.
