So by that logic anyone applying for a government job like a teacher shouldn’t be required to have a TB test, or show proof of a college degree.

Okay fine. Thanks for the clarification.

The notion that a public employer shouldn’t have things like vaccine mandates, because they are taxpayer funded, has no logical basis and something you have just created out of thin air. Public employers have as much rights and obligations to protect their employees health and well being, as long as they don’t violate other existing discrimination laws. As far as I know there aren’t employee protections for vaccine skeptics, but with Desantis in charge sooner or later there could be.

I really don’t know how far you want to go down that rabbit hole. Once you start tearing down govt employer vaccine requirements, where do you stop? Schools, hospitals, colleges? You are really talking about a giant step backwards for public health.

What accusation did I make other than you keep changing your positions? For someone who claims to agree with vaccination mandates, that you are vaccinated, and think private businesses have the right to make those mandates, you seem to fight awfully hard defending anti-vaxer rhetoric. Then you say you only meant it’s the government making those same requirements on its employees, and it’s wrong EXCEPT for LEO’s and health care workers working for the government.

So what is your definitive position?

Stop lying. I dont defend "anti vaxxer rhetoric" in fact I've been pretty fair at attacking it.

Being against the government firing people is not anti vax. Not even close.

My position has never wavered since they approved the vaccine.

I have always supported a private business right. I called out DeSantis for his stance on the matter in fact... Multiple times

I helped write a policy requiring masks and certain other safe measures in my building for all staff and visitors.

All of our staff were encouraged to be vaccinated, though not fired if they chose not to. We had educational protocols that I wrote into our strategy.

My staff was 95‰ vaccinated and 100% masked during the height of it.

I will ask you one more time. Where has my position changed?

I have always supported private business having their say.
I have always been against the government firing people that were not in health or protective positions.

Always. Never changes. Always have said the same thing.

Again, vaccine mandates for employment or attendance in government entities has a long precedent. I don’t know why a government employer doesn’t have the right and obligation to protect employees just like private employers. The fact that a govt agency is taxpayer funded seems completely irrelevant to me.

Generally an employee is aware of such requirements when they are hired.

Dropping this requirement on established career employees long after their employment is a new ball of wax and is not the norm.

And lets be honest here, the girl taking your paperwork at the zoning office was not required to present a vaccine list when she was hired.

Professions like military, LE, teachers etc where this was alread the norm seems ok, but most run of the mill government jobs dont check your vaccination history do they?

I don’t know the exact requirements for every govt job but employers change requirements all the time. So are you saying a govt agency can’t change employee requirements for 40 years? You sound like a union representative.

So if I am required to take zoning docs to a govt agency, why do I have to be exposed to an employee who is unvaccinated?

There was a pandemic. Right? They didn’t just randomly drop a vaccine requirement on people. It didn’t happen in a vacuum. It happened in response to a pandemic.

When I thought of “vaccine requirements” I thought about them in terms of job roles. Who has the most public interactions and risk? Obviously health care workers would be top of list. But then others. I had Wal-Mart and Publix workers. If I’m understanding what you are saying, Wal-mart you think could require it’s workers but not a state DMV… because… taxpayer dollars? That’s… a weird take.

You always have that risk. Every day. Everywhere. For a multiplicity of things. Its part of the give and take for freedom. Its why you wear your mask and get your shot.

What pandemic ? Now, there was pan-panic. And whether out of that same panic, or more likely because certain players stood to make billions, medical interventions were rolled out.
