With UF's loss in the CWS semifinal, the Gators will pick up 83 points in the final cup standings.

UF 2024 compared to UF 2023:

    2024 - 4th place - 1189 points
    2023 - 5th place - 1091.50 points

UF improved year over year moving up one slot.

    Thank you spring sports.

Will have to wait for the final ranking next week, but it looks like Texas overtook Stanford for first place, good to see a program other than Stanford win the cup.

In defense of volleyball, UF was on in championship mode until having 3 devastating injuries to top players. Volleyball will be back better and deeper than last season.

Soccer, I don't know enough to say, but the few games I did look at, UF looked slow. Hopefully, UF recruited speed. Admittedly, I'm not a soccer fan and don't follow the sport.

Football? Good luck. My own expectations were lowered when CBN refused to hire an offensive coordinator. I do hope for the best, but I'm skeptical. I have followed the Gators my entire life and that will continue to the end no matter how 2024 turns out. Go Gators!

Stanford play sports like mens' water polo, womens' water polo, Thus, they pick up points for sports no one else plays.

You mean those ultra popular sports where less than 10 teams compete????? That has bugged for a long time. And it may be up to 15 schools these days but...

You would think there would/should be a rule that at least 50% of the schools need to participate in the sport for it to be eligible for points.

And there are 69 schools competing in beach vb this year at the D1 level. There are according to one article 13 men's WP teams! According to the NCAA participation site they say 28 for the men.

It should really be at least 50 schools--half would put the number at about 150.
