Lagway throws for 7/ update game 2

We have a chance to be very good next year, even with a brutal schedule. It wouldn’t be good for the team or Lagway to throw him into a starting role his first year.
I’m really excited about Lagway. He appears to be the entire package. His leadership ability seems to be on the level of Tebow. Starting him first year could set his career and our progress as a team back.
Anyone remember Tim Couch at Kentucky? Really good QB but he was thrown into the fire right out of high school and I think it hurt him.

I’d be surprised if a true freshman starts over a 5th year senior who’s got a year of experience in the offensive system.

Now, I’m sure we will work Lagway in on some RPOs to get him involved Year 1.

 

I love DJ and consider him THE future, but I agree with Tommyvee for sure, work DJ in with certain packages, but Mertz is really proving his stuff. Can't wait for UGA to see what he and that reciever Corp can do!

 

Right. We don’t want DJ to have to start next year. Mertz has been very good and has another year, Lagway gets a year to process and learn.
