(Lagway article) I hate to compare to UF's GOAT...

I don’t know much aside from reading what happened at the Elite 11 camp and watching HUDL highlights. I’d love to hear what some of the experts on here think of how Lagway stacks up to previous top rated QBs in years past. @apkgator @bobbybaker86 ?

 

The one thing that you have to consider is when comparing high school QBs... games matter.

And players get better and worse at different times. Right now it's game time comparisons that matter for me.

"Statue football tossing" (in those QB passing competitions) is not a very realistic way to look at QBs in action... in game time situations.

 

I think their district schedule is supposedly weak but playoffs are against the tougher competition.

He definitely has a playoff game but I’m surprised he’s not going to be there for a 7 o’clock night game considering he’s been our biggest recruiter. I get it, the kid probably need some rest honestly

 

Assuming that UF isn't footing the bill and following the rules, how much do you think it cost to fly round trip from Texas to fla with lodging, food and whatever other expenses he incurs on a "unofficial" visit. Real talk, many here would have much more insight on this than I, but it's gotta be a couple grand or more easy no? Depending on how many flying? Probably 1200 or more just for plane tickets for 3 people. with those costs out of pocket, at this point we've become basically an investment for Lagway and family. He’s investing his money to be here weekends to recruit his future teammates and hesn"invested" a good bit. Good thing bout that is I'm not worried about him flipping at all now, he too invested.

 

Yep, and the cheapest game ticket I could find looking last night was $165

players of Lagway s level rarely are not compensated for their travel for unofficial visits. Legal or not that happens at every school.

 

Somehow I suspect it’s not costing these guys 2k of their parents money for trips every other weekend. Some can afford it no problem but most can’t yet they travel all over.
