Labor Day Gas Prices plummet - I paid $2.97

Yup, and not just with regard to the economy.

 

Trump was the beneficiary of a trend that began under Barack Obama. Interestingly when Obama was president and Trump was a candidate he claimed that the labor market data from the BLS was phony. After he took office it suddenly became credible even though it was developed by the same federal agency using the same methodology.

 

I feel like gas is more expensive in VA than elsewhere’s average. Sucks.

 

Gas prices are scheduled to continue dropping through next year, regardless of who gets elected. The main reason? China's economy is in the crapper. Secondary reasons? Both the U.S. and European economies are showing signs of cracking.

Just a guess, but the folks in Alaska & Hawaii prob disagree with this. Ok, yes those are the extremes. I bet our gas here in MN is just about as high. We get taxed out the a$$.

 

Plummeting? I paid something ridiculous like $4.28 for premium off I-75 this weekend while heading up for the football game.

 

I drove by an off-brand station that had regular priced at $2.85 a gallon. The Shell where I usually purchase gas was $3.25. Gas in Northern Virginia is more expensive than in the rest of the state thanks to an additional 8 cent a gallon tax to fund public transit and stricter emission requirements.

 

I think the gas stations crank up their prices when they see your sports car driving up.

Odd, pulling up premium prices in Waldo, the first one I saw at raceway was 3.70.

Reminds me of the old saying: "Yeah, it's fast, passes everything but the gas station..."

 

$2.53 here in TX

 

I'm still waiting to hear from someone that has their own oil pump-jack and refinery. That's where the cheap gas is.
