Interesting. A white male Republican would get instant boost and support with this kind of behavior. THAT we know for a fact.
What's sad is that while the truth has always been optional for Trump the overwhelming majority of his supporters which includes a majority of Republicans believe whatever he says and if it's not obvious he's also resorting to his old playbook of appealing to racism/nativism including birtherism 2.0 and the mention of Hale's birth name which he misspelled (probably out of ignorance although it could also be indicative of his impulsiveness and lack of attention to detail or maybe it was an intentional another one of his demeaning juvenile nicknames like those he used against his opponents in the 2016 primary campaign).
Seems like old news. All these affair allegations came out long ago and she survived it as there was almost no media follow up. Irrelevant issue running against a serial cheater like trump anyway.
Trump flat out threatened her yesterday with investigations if she didn't drop out ASAP. Example #48563485698 of mafia behavior by Trump.
I am beginning to think she is our best shot at taking out Trump. Not that she will the nomination, that is starting to look harder and harder for her. Not impossible, but hard. Where I think she can help is by starting to punch directly at Trump. She and the rest of the also rans spent all there time attacking each other, but now that it is her vs him, she needs to focus on him - and she has - and that will get Trump to attack her even harder. She has support, and the more of her supporters he turns off the better. Basically she is his Bernie. The more her supporters believe she didn't get treated fairly, the better chance they stay home come November. Come on Nikki! Stick with it and give him both barrels!
She should have started in on him earlier. It's a bit late now. She has skeletons in her closet too. She isn't a serious enough contender to have them brought out yet. What NH showed is that Trump doesn't have independent support. Once he starts getting convictions for his crimes, his independent support will crater even further.
Maybe but don't forget that the GOP nomination is a winner takes all process which makes it end sooner. The Dems hand out delegates proportionally to the vote.
Not worried about Haley, as she will get crushed in her home state if she stays in this and is 50 points down nationally, but I do have to think at what point do people begin asking her why she chose to continue working for President Trump if he was such an awful guy?
Or why Trump hired her, and didn't fire her, as UN Ambassador if she's a birdbrain who puts America last.
If Trump wasn't up 50 points nationally, I would concede that point to you, but clearly, she's the one with the burden here to prove why Trump is so awful, even as she continued to work for him and support him during her time as ambassador.
Because it was politically advantageous to her at the time to say nice things about him same as everyone else who defends him until it's no longer to their personal benefit. Next up: Tim Scott btw. That doesn't explain the flip side of why Trump has hired so many people into the most senior level positions only to later say they're morons, only gave them a job because they begged, etc.
South Carolina will tell all, right? Her home state. Trump already has Graham and Scott in his corner. If her own state rejects her, she's done. Does she want to live through that humiliation? Time will tell. Don't be surprised when she "reconsiders" and drops out before the primary.
Yeah, she probably will get trounced in SC but there's chinks in the armor for Trump: (1) closer in NH that he wants people to believe, (2) poor performance with independents and moderate Republicans, and (3) significant number of Haley supporters saying they wouldn't vote for Trump in the general if he's the nominee.
Maybe Haley can run as an independent? That would take enough votes away from Trump in the general election. I’d threaten it if I were her. Is that possible?
