I kindly ask you to stop putting words in my mouth that were never there. If you cannot understand what I’m saying, then please don’t respond at all. Thank you.
My fault - I will cease responding to you. Please continue to explain how Trump establishing a criminal conspiracy to overturn an election and not transfer power is actually not that big a deal. I will go further and try to bring myself to your way of thinking. Specifically, I will analyze my strong personal belief that there should be legal repercussions for this criminal conspiracy. After all, that way of thinking could harmfully lead to rounding up Trump supporters and incarcerating them because of what they might do.
I like your post, but I think you're minimizing what occurred leading up to and on January 6 and what has been occurring since. Trump, his followers and members of Congress are still saying the election was stolen and are already hinting that they will not honor the results if Biden wins. For me, that is simply outrageous and ultimately a threat to our democracy. But perhaps, as you suggest, we'll survive it. Time will tell, though I wonder if we'll ever be the same again. BTW, you've misread what happened after Jackson's inauguration. It was not an insurrection or any kind of attack on Jackson. He had invited folks to the White House, and things got out of hand. It was nothing like what happened in Washington on January 6.
The vigilance would start with the GOP not nominating Trump again. They are going to, so either they are not being vigilant in protecting the Republic, or they are supporters of what Trump has done.
I should have explained the Jackson comparison better. I know it was not an insurrection. It was a bunch of Vol fans getting out of hand and behaving very badly. Point of comparison was merely a group of rowdy people trashed the White House and a group of rowdy people trashed the capital. Personally, I hope your outlook on Trump does not come to pass. Not because of any sense of I told you so, but in the sense that it is better for our country that your fears are not realized. However, if your fears are realized then I will join you in dealing with it.
Quite feasible and it does kill two birds with one stone.[/QUOTE] That seems like the easiest way to do it, but will that old geezer play along with their plan? This more brain nootropic chemicals they pump into his system the more angry and defiant he seems to get.
I think that's somewhat unfair although more on point I would put my money Biden over Trump in any physical activity. I remember when Biden was ridiculed when he fell off his bike yet his probable opponent in the presidential election is in such poor shape that he has to drive his golf cart on to the green because he is incapable of walking 50 feet or so without becoming winded.
