We were up like 13 with 4 minutes left or something like that, and we're running down the court chucking up 3s with :26 left on the shot clock - and all I could do was smile and yell, "hell yeah!" at my TV. Are we seeing a Florida coach learn? Good job CMW. Dance with the one that brought you. When aggression is beating your opponent - stay aggressive! We finally saw it.
We had one possession at like the 430 mark where we ran the clock all the way down. I was thinking "noooooo not again!" But then we indeed returned to regular offense. Loved to see it.
Yup. Posted on this in the game thread - up by ten and didn't turn off the offensive or defensive pressure. Play the game that got you the damn lead! Just so happy if that was white and hope he praises the kids for continuing their flow.
Wide open threes from good shooters are almost always fine shots. I recall an intramural game I was in when we were up 2 with less than a minute to play. We were passing the ball around the perimeter running out the clock and one of our players hoists a three pointer that went in. We won that one. Stupid shot, but it worked. A friend of mine went up to him and said "Nice shot. Don't ever do that again." In another intramural game we were up three with seconds left passing the ball around and one of our guys shoots the ball, misses, and the other team hits a three at the buzzer to tie the game and we lose in OT. To this day he said it was a good shot. LOL.
It would be nice to see White grow by learning from past mistakes and hopefully he has. Watching a team play to win is much more enjoyable than watching one playing not to lose.
Well, there IS is a down and distance factor to consider in closing out a game. Mike just has had a tendency to shut it down too early.
