I think his remarks are controversial with non-believers as well as many Catholics and other Christians and will provoke debate and discussion among those people. I dont think the school itself is embroiled in controversy for allowing him to speak, no one cares about that part. People are certainly allowed to be "up in arms" about what he said if they want to be.

 

How do you know the speech wasn’t vetted before it was given or even recommended as to what is in it?

They didnt cancel graduation altogether. They even had a commencement address and let the valedictorian attend, just not talk and deliver her speech. Apparently it was "unsafe" to let her speak, but she and others were in no danger being present in the same space. Its pretty clear to me they just censored her for fear of what could be said.

You and I know that’s not what I’m saying. FYI my wife agrees that a woman who decides to be a mom is still a strong and respected woman. She did it all and at one time worked full time, cared for our children, and kept our house in order while I worked 24 straight hours often going to a part time job then eventually home at about 5. I’d be gone over 30 hours at times. She will tell you that her best times were when she was a stay at home mom. I don’t know what planet you’re from or how many conservative “right wingers@ you know but I’ll tell you of all I know not one thinks a woman’s place in “in the kitchen” as you like to describe it.
