I told you. To avoid the red herring that likely would ensue. And the fact it was obvious. As you showed.

Obvious. Because you kept dropping pieces of that fish each time you claimed it was the antithesis of what Jesus taught. Then asked for specifics you backed off. Ball is still in your court. Explain. How does the declaration issued by the Vatican last December violate what Jesus taught?

Sure are. Remember when Morgan Wallen got caught on video shouting the dreaded n-word and his album sales exploded?

You know exactly what Jesus taught in Matthew. You also know he went straight to Genesis in his teaching on divorce. You completely understand his declaration is about conforming to the culture of the day. Something Jesus certainly did not do when he walked this Earth…

How does any of this conflict with what is in the declaration?

Jesus associated with outcasts and pariahs. He healed the 'special' servant of a Roman centurion. The Greek of the original text gives contextual evidence the 'special' servant was the Roman centurion's homosexual companion, as was the practice of that time.

Jesus taught and practiced compassion among the people he associated, who sought and requested favors of him. His healing of the centurion's special servant was a blessing to the pair.

How does what Jesus taught - or did - conflict, or is the antithesis, of the content of the Vatican's declaration?

Interesting. Don’t have data; doubt it exists. But strikes me as accurate

I find it interesting that she’s upset about focusing so much on school and work to this point in her life when she just got her bachelors degree four years ago. Not sure how young she feels she should have started but she has all of the time in the world. Ultimately, she has every option on the table right now, which is what I would want for anybody. My guess is that she will wind up having both a career and a family. I don’t see how that was her being duped. She’s in a great position.

It’s almost as if you’re dismissing her sentiments.

I don’t dismiss how she says she feels. Seems interesting to me though that she feels so much regret when she’s likely just in her early to mid 20s. She is proud of her degree and loves her job but is increasingly interested in having kids. That’s pretty common in my experience and doesn’t have to be about being lied to by all the crazy feminists in her private, Catholic school. I wonder if she could do it over whether she would have started having kids as a teenager with no degree or work skills to fall back on? That’s even assuming she met the right guy with the financial means to support a family.

I also thought this line was interesting: “Apparently, women could live their lives alone and thrive on spending nine-plus hours in an office daily before going home to their multiple cats and cheap reality television shows.”

It seems like she has a very negative perception about the lives of women who do not have kids. Nothing but sitting alone with crappy tv and a house of cats. It’s the same sort of language Matt Gaetz uses. If conservatives simply want women to know that having a family and staying home is an honorable option, why mock the experience of women who take a different path?

I think it’s interesting that so many women share Butker’s sentiments. Don’t they realize Butker’s speech was viciously anti-woman ?

A Butker jersey is the new Trump hat. Women can avoid the wearers like the plague.

Butker is a millionaire punter in his 20’s. Guy is clearly a self-righteous ass, but if a good woman is content to be a TradWife (or is just a slutty Golddigger), either way he is the demographic they would target. This is why you see groupies at sporting events, concerts, Hollywood, etc. What do you think these women are hoping for? Same reason you occasionally see really old, but really rich dudes with 10/10 trophy wives.

He is also the SELLER of the jersey.

Now the avg BUYER of such a jersey, I’m guessing is a… slightly different demographic to put it kindly. Incel uniform.

ok, so with Lacuna's prompting and your responses, I learned that Pope Francis issued a declaration sanctioning the blessing of homosexual unions.

No doubt itchy on its face, and I see the basis for your objection, and perhaps the basis for Butker's sideswipe against the Pope.

So your point /objection is well taken.

I'll have to reserve further comment in terms of the substance and effect of the declaration, but at least I must concede your point wasn't without merit. By the same token, @lacuna request for spelling out how the declaration defies the Bible and Christ's actual teachings, seem also fair game, though I think you're right in declining to elaborate, as that is a topic worthy of its own thread, and easily calculated to serve as a derailment of this one.

    Jmho.

She has a pretty vain job (degree in politics and doing media about politics), so I would would argue either she is straight up lying about job satisfaction or subconsciously maybe knows the frivolous nature of what she does and this is article is almost like a psychological exercise to cope.

I too found it strange she presents the only two options as the house wife or career woman living alone with a house full of cats. Aside from being crazy judgemental, like… there’s plenty of in betweens. I’ve said before how I’ve noticed how many conservative “thinkers” only seem capable of extreme binaries. Zero nuance. Like everything has to be set up as a false dichotomy, this is just yet another example backing that up…
