studies and statistics have shown that less than 5% ( I believe ) of sexual accusers are not telling the truth....and that does not include those who didn't come forward....hate when statistics get in the way...
Evidence of lying under oath? Perhaps Devil's Triangle was an inside joke that involved a drinking game... Same with Boof... It's tough to prove what was meant when he used those words as a high school student... Bill Clinton had the blue dress... Kavanaugh doesn't have anything that proves he was lying, as far as I know... It's also, funny how the conversation has once again changed from him being a sex offender and rapist, to him lying under oath... You're basically suggesting that he shouldn't have testified under oath... because even if you're right... the left is suggesting that heavy drinking in high school is grounds for him being eliminated from consideration... they are suggesting because a reference to a threesome is in his yearbook page... he should be eliminated from consideration... when he says he didn't drink too excessively in high school... and the words meant something differently as he used them.... he must be lying and that's grounds for being eliminated from consideration... There's no winning with the left.... So might as well stop trying... and stop playing their game...
Dr. Ford's lawyer is begging for her client to be able to testify for the FBI. If Kavanaugh refuses, he can kiss his confirmation good bye. This is the WH blocking it.
Putting aside the fact that literally no one who would have knowledge has alleged that an assault took place at Tim Gaudette's house (that was liberals running with "Hey look, Kavanaugh, PJ, and Judge! Lets ignore the fact that there were also like 3 or 4 other people listed who weren't supposed to be at the assault, including the guy she used to date, Squi, who she definitely knows and has never said was there."), you may want to check again on him not being interviewed: FBI interviews Denver-based friend of Brett Kavanaugh (if you're not happy with a Denver news station as a source, google "Tim Gaudette FBI" and find about 6,000 more, including CNN).
That isn't remotely true. When did they start? The only reason there's an investigation is because the three REPUBLICAN Senators demanded it.
His own classmates called him a liar after the hearings wrt those drinking and sex terms. They were fairly common knowledge slang and there is virtually no way that a partying jock in the 80s didn't know what they meant. But you don't even need to go to his claimed misunderstanding of those terms. He intentionally, repeatedly misrepresented the affidavits of the other witnesses to the Ford accusations. He is a lawyer and a judge, so he very clearly knows he did that. Edit - I still think there is a possibility that he has committed sexual assault(s). Ford's story by itself clearly does not establish that. Not sure if the FBI will find anything that will, but unlikely. Belligerent drunk behavior can certainly include trying to take something a girl doesn't want to give you, and there are witnesses on record to him being a belligerent drunk. That said, he already disqualified himself from this appointment based on his lies and other inappropriate behavior. That is why the focus is there now. Nobody made him lie over and over again. He chose to do that. Nobody made him repeatedly talk over the top of senators asking him questions. Nobody made him go off on a wildly paranoid partisan rant. That's all on him.
I know you don't seriously believe that Democratic pressure had nothing to do with the FBI investigation. No point in engaging with such a dishonest argument, frankly...
I had some classmates spread some bad rumors about me in high school... Just because classmates say he's lying, doesn't mean he is... Just because Ford's witnesses, don't remember the event, or deny it took place, doesn't mean it didn't happen... Works both ways, buddy...
Did the GOP give a single crap about what Democrats wanted before Collins, Murkowski, and Flake refused to vote yes without an investigation? No. Republicans don't care about Democratic pressure. They care about the votes.
Of course. I agree to all of that. Common sense alone tells you he was lying about the meanings of those terms. If it was just one, that would be one thing, but getting every single one of them wrong? GTHO. His classmates are just confirming what we already know.
Which is non-responsive to what I said to your post about subpoena power. This has nothing to do with subpoena power. This is the WH blocking it. The FBI doesn't need subpoena power. Both Kavanaugh and Ford will voluntarily talk to them. Accordingly, your argument didn't address the actual issue here. Why is the WH blocking it? What do they fear?
His classmates at Georgetown Prep stated that he lied about several of the terms in his yearbook, that Devil's Triangle wasn't a reference to drinking games, "Renate Alumnae" wasn't a reference to being friends with her (which doesn't even make logical sense), and Boofing wasn't a reference to flatulence. Instead the first and the third were the common meaning of each slang term and the Renate Alumnae entry was a sex reference to a girl about whom the football team made up sexual rhymes. The letter released yesterday shows that he lied about his drinking as do his statements/emails about needing to piece together nights after he was drinking. They also suggest that h was lying when he said he was a virgin (given that he couldn't have winked and nodded any harder about having sex with women there). His classmates at Yale have stated that he lied about his drinking and the resulting aggression there.
To be fair... if he said that Devil's Triangle was a threesome involving two men and a woman... would the fact that this is in his high school year book be a disqualifier for you from being on the SCOTUS? Same with the "belligerent drunk" allegation? Or boof? If he said yes, to all of those things, would any one or all three have been a deal-breaker for you?
Classmates saying he lied isn't evidence... Boys never lie about their sexual experience in high school...
Nope. The fact that he lied about it is, however. He likely did so because he was afraid the real answers would make him look guilty of a more serious offense, that would be disqualifying.
Guess who is the person in the WH in charge of the limits on the FBI investigation? You guessed it, Don McGahn.
Well if only Democrats on the committee felt the same way... and didn't constantly allude to a "drinking problem" in high school, or point to the year book, apparently as evidence that he was sexually aggressive to the point of assaulting someone... Which is also stupid, because not all sexually aggressive people, sexually assault people...
