Oh, by the way, CBS 60 minutes is coming on after the SF v LA game is over. Time to pop the popcorn and crack (another) cold one.

If Bob Mueller held a press conference tomorrow, and announced President Trump was cleared of any wrongdoing with regard to colluding with a foreign entity to influence our election in 2016, do you think the left would say “well, alrighty then” and stand down? After almost two years of investigation? Of course, they wouldn’t. They would find another excuse to double down.

So, it really doesn’t matter how in depth the Kavanaugh probe goes. The left will just keep creating excuses to prolong and eventually kill off the confirmation. Because no matter what the FBI says later this week, they’ll find another excuse to keep the charade going.

First of all, Mueller started his investigation in May 2017, not 'almost two years' ago.
Second, after eight or so Benghazi investigations, hoping to find something, anything ... on Obama or Clinton.
    AFter years of Whitewater ...

Republicans have no right to whine about an investigation going on too long. But that won't stop you, will it?

Even if the FBI comes back with nothing, it won't be enough for the D's. More delay, more investigation, is all they want.

Alternatively if the Mueller report showed that Trumps campaign conducted all kinds of illegal activity, the right would say, “well this was a legitimate investigation and the evidence is convincing so...

Sorry I can’t keep going. You know it wouldn’t change anything for them. I don’t see why we always need to point out the other side’s shortcomings that are shared between both sides.

Well, apparently his wife was scared to death to travel to DC, the mental anguish of testifying about something like this to Congress notwithstanding. That much we do know. And the Kavanaughs found a way to have Ashley there and somehow protect their family.

I find a way to be there with my wife. Finding cover for my two teenage sons isn’t really hard to do.

Not a chance. If that were to happen, Trump’s support on the right would evaporate faster than Nixon’s did with the smoking gun.

And how will the R's react if the FBI comes back with nothing conclusive but believes that there is enough information to justify continuation of the background investigation? Probably take the position that if the Bureau couldn't find anything conclusive in a week, it's time end the investigation and vote on Kavanaugh's confirmation.

Don't think so. Trump and his buddies in the right-wing media like Sean Hannity and Jeanine Pirro would still slam Mueller and his supporters would continue to support the Dear Leader.

If the FBI comes back with some physical evidence, party pics, notes, keg receipts, whatever, continue the investigation. But if all there they have is a he said she said why go on?

This is a nice diversion attempt by you, but the bottom line is, no matter what the FBI says later this week, it will not be enough for Dems and they will look for another excuse to prolong. That is why Flake is so useless, because being a United States Senator and somehow this basic fact of Washington escapes him. And no, it doesn’t give the GOP any political cover for the mid-terms.

The Rs sure have made that easy by not allowing a legitimate investigation. There's also that issue of multiple classmates saying Kavanaugh perjured himself. Does that bother you?

To sink Kavanaugh’s confirmation at all cost. Chuck Schumer’s publicly stated goal less than 30 minutes after Trump announced Kavanaugh’s nomination.

    The hits keep on coming:

EDIT: Looks like Chris Dudley, one of Kavanaugh's character witnesses, wasn't so innocent himself:
Former classmate reveals Kavanaugh and buddy Chris Dudley drunkenly busted in on couple to humiliate a woman
Brookes noted that she didn’t frequent as many parties with Dudley as Kavanaugh, but one she remembered very well.

“Both Brett and Chris Dudley were very drunk,” she described. “And they thought it would be really funny to barge into a room where a guy and a girl had gone off together and embarrass that woman. Chris Dudley was the one who went in, under the ‘egging on’ of Brett Kavanaugh and they thought it was funny. The girl was mortified and I was furious. So, I’m not sure he’s the best character witness.”
