Perhaps just one of the four she named as being there to back up her story. When her best life long friend want do it plus she does not know when it happened where it happened makes it hard to believe her
While you're listening to her, keep this in mind please: Considering her chosen career, this could absolutely 100% ruin her. Especially if she were lying. Your reputation is an absolutely critical component of being a professional of any kind in higher education, especially as a faculty member (of which she is). This is something I am very well versed in, as my career and education are both in the field of higher education. I would never, ever, ever testify to something that I knew was a lie. I would never get another job again, period. She earned a baccalaureate degree, two masters degrees, and a PhD, AND she works in a field which puts critical emphasis on reputation. No way she throws all that down the toilet by conjuring up a story for political reasons.
There really isn't a way to prove either is definitively lying at this point. If there was a specific date provided for the party that Kavanaugh had an alibi for, then maybe. But despite everyone talking about perjury and whatever, it's pretty unlikely that the standard of proof could be reached in a court or hearing to substantiate an accusation of lying against either based on what we now know.
I'm sorry I don't agree at all. This is not even close to being true. There is NO DOUBT she will be a hero. She will be the toast of the town. Let's remember her background- she's a PHD in Psychology. One of the most liberal field in America. Jonathan Haidt (you should read him!) has talked constantly about the extreme liberal bias in academia- but especially in the psychology field. Then put on top of that that she's in the most liberal area of the US (Northern California), and is a Prof in the most liberal den of that most liberal arena... Whew- she will be queen bee no matter how this turns out. Her world will now be similar to a UF player who made a last second play to beat the hated Noles. So no, you are way off base. She's a hero to them. And she knows this full well. Whether she's telling the truth, lying, or simply mistaken.
You are wrong; that is not how it works. Please tell me all about your expertise that leads you to these conclusions?
I mean I don't think this affects voting in any way, but I'm pretty sure voters don't turn out just to say "thank you."
I don't think the polls bear that out now. One that just came out said only 54% of democrats believe Ford. If they were polling heavily in favor of her, there wouldn't be a vote. Those numbers may change after today though depending on how the two of them come off, though I don't see that so far. Bottom line is that the senate is going to vote in a way that lets them keep their jobs, so bloodbath is the least likely outcome.
According to Fox News 40% of voters support kavanaugh 50% oppose. source: Fox News Poll: Record number of voters oppose Kavanaugh nomination ~158 million registered voters source: U.S. trails most developed countries in voter turnout 79 million oppose MINUS 63 million support = 16 million MORE people oppose BKav than support. source: math Sooo... yes. Millions of people support Bret Kavanaugh. Millions MORE oppose Bret Kavanaugh than support him. So your claim is, well, not in support of your position.
