I’m not surprised but what and why do they think is silly?

The entire world is rooting hard for Kamala to win. Trump is seen as an egomaniac bully with low morals and no ethics. His admiration of the murderer, Putin, is also very concerning to the rest of the world.

The blatant lies, especially from Trump, are brushed away by Republicans. As long as a Dem doesn't win, I guess. It's really baffling that Republicans did not move away from Trump after what happened on January 6th. I think that any other Republican candidate would win this election by a landslide against Kamala.

The one thing all three nations have in common is our crazy politicians... They all suck. It's also sad that each nation keeps much of the bad immigrant invasion news, happening in their own nation, quieted to the locals so that they only see overseas news and what's happening abroad on the internet.

Every time I read about a “new” policy proposal from the scarecrow and the cowardly lion ….. I hear these lyrics from a 70’s classic:

    “We're so sorry, uncle Albert
But we haven't done a bloody thing all day
    We're so sorry, uncle Albert
But the kettle's on the boil
And we're so easily called away”

Not really. Around 40% of Republicans are hard core Trump, and prefer him to all available Republican alternatives. Another 40% is Trump adjacent - they may not like some of his rhetoric or antics but they generally support him anyway. Maybe 20% of Republicans truly don’t like Trump.

Meanwhile, Trump doesn’t actually have policies and never has. Still waiting on that healthcare plan 8 years later.

With the OP it is either:
    1. A post based on an extremely dubious source.
    2. A post based on an article he either didn't understand or intentionally misrepresented.

Cowardly Lion? You're referring to the guy who had his Dad buy him a deferment based on nonexistent bone spurs so that he could avoid service in Vietnam?

I never said that I was in favor of that.

I asked if that’s what he wanted.

Immigration laws in most of those countries are far stricter than they are in the US.

We had Trump, judging by your posts I trust you understand why he is not a serious person, running against and old man with age related cognitive issues until they could no longer cover it up. The old guy was replaced by a candidate who, if memory serves didn't make it past the first primary, didnt receive a single vote this cycle, botched the only job she had as VP and her first policy proposal is "We will just tell everyone to lower prices". According to RFK if you look at their websites neither Trump or Biden mentioned deficit reduction. Haven't heard Harris mention it either
If that's not silly enough I read in the LA Times today that the Democrats will copy Obama's hope and change theme for their convention. The incumbent VP is running on change. Give us another chance we can do better?! And she's winning!
Anyone who has an IQ above a comfortable room temperature thinks our politics are silly.

True, you never did say that you were in favor of free markets and capitalism. And if by "he," you mean me, no I don't want socialist policies towards immigration or importing of goods. Do you?

The question was why people in UK/Europe think we are silly. To the extent your various points have merit - some more than others, probably has little to do with why they think are politics are silly.

We're very possibly about to re-elect a convicted felon who criminally tried to overturn an election.

They probably think we're not just silly, but a nation of blithering idiots. Hard to say that they're wrong.

Oh, and about half our populace apparently thinks it's OK to vote for a political party whose leadership actively LIES for said convicted felon, and has as a litmus test whether members will participate in his Big Lie about attempting to overturn an election. "Idiots" as a descriptor may not go far enough. January 6th "hostages", anyone?

I would say this is more to the point. They look and see we elect a moronic buffoon like Trump, then invade our own capital in the worst orchestrated coup of all time because of ridiculous election conspiracy theories.

They already think we are half nuts with our hundreds of millions of guns and tens of thousands of gun deaths, and view our lingering fascination with the death penalty as ghastly, as well as our acceptance of wide swaths of poverty and homelessness.

Lol, true dat, JD!! Almost as bad ad the cowardly lion (burn baby, burn) having any swap over Homeland Security.

“Giving Kamala Harris control over inflation policy, it’s like giving Jeffrey Epstein control over human trafficking policy,” he continued. “The American people are much smarter than that. They don’t buy the idea that Kamala Harris represents a fresh start. She is more of the same.”

JD Vance: Giving Kamala Harris Control Of Inflation Policy Is Like Giving Jeffrey Epstein Control Of Trafficking Policy

And here is more vindication to those that said our economy is FAKE and bloated, not with jobs... but with lies about jobs.

And NO... I am NOT one bit happy about this news.
